The Monon Trail is a fun venue. We’ve ridden our bikes, walked our dog and walked on it with our granddaughters. There are parts that are shaded when it’s hot out. I highly recommend enjoying the trail.

Experiencing the Monon Rail Trail in Indianapolis, Carmel and Westfield. Great views, level - paved and with a center-line allows for comfortable running and walking without too much interference from bikers. It's good to see police patrols from time to time too. Watch for vehicles...More

We had a great time here. A lively place to walk. Several places to grab a bite along trail. We had a very relaxing experience. You don't have to be a power Walker. Plenty of slow walkers as well as runners share trail amicably.

Long, mostly wooded, and paved for jogging, strolling, or biking. Not crowded interspersed with businesses catering to trail visitors.

I have biked the Monon from the Cultural trail near Mass Ave. to where it peters out in Carmel, and it is a gem of Indy. The Broad Ripple and Carmel sections are particularly atmospheric. I think in Carmel alone, you'll pass through parks, wetlands,...More

This is a former train track that went from downtown Indianapolis to Chicago. You can walk it or bike it from Carmel and further north all the way to Monument Circle. I walked a very short portion of it that passes by the Center for...More

Great bike riding, walker or running trail with shade and places to eat and drink along the way. Plenty of places to start on the trail as well.

Definitely!! Please be respectful of others and bring your doggie bags. There are dispensers along the trail where you can dispose them. Enjoy!
