A beautiful church with a cave next to it where Erasinos river passes underground and comes out in front of the church. The view is amazing, especially during winter when the river has water. The caves have icons in it and is worth a visit if you are in the area.

This charming little church is built into a cave in a picturesque location over the Erasinos river. The entrance to the church, just inside the cave is surrounded by beautiful flowers. The inside is deceptively large with plenty of ornate icons decorating the walls.

As you exit the church you can continue deeper into the cave, it is even underfoot, with an alter and cross suggesting that some services take place here too.

This is a charming church built over a river. What is unique is the caves on the church site. While there you can eat at Palia Istoria. It is an amazing restaurant with a great view of the church. The church itself is small and not worth a long drive to see, but if you are in the Argos area, it’s not too far and makes a nice stop with lunch nearby.

The entrance to the church in the cave is beautiful with all the flowers, but once inside we couldn't see a thing. No lights came on. We could only see part way and couldn't see if there were any icons. The main church looked huge but it was locked so couldn't see inside. There was some water in the river which comes out in front of it. Also there are a couple of tavernas just down by the church for a drink or something to eat which came in handy.
