Convinced my partner that zoo's in Australia were actually a good thing for conservation. This wasn't the case here. Some small enclosures for the birds and lack of information about some of the animals. The poor crocs didn't get to see any natural light or real grass. The staff were friendly and the lady talking about the tassie devils was... More

Nice newer place. Still seems to be expanding. Not too big, so not a lot of walking. They have some uniquely tasmaniain animals and it is worth a look to support this local zoo

Great service, great day. Kids loved getting close to animals. Feeding denominations and information was great.

Cumstomer service us awful. Refused to accept my age pension card for the concession entry price because I didn't have a Seniors Card....go figure. ...and the attendant was quite rude with a bad attitude

Overseas visitors were happy to get up close to tassie devil, wombats, wallabies. Also saw a friendly little Penguin, lions and a very chatty cockatoo!

What a fantastic little zoo, we loved our visit and would happily return! Took my young daughters and they loved the place and all the animals. I have been to Melbourne zoo a few times and must say really don't enjoy it, the last time we took the kids I stated I would be happy if I never came back... More

Visited the zoo to see some Tassie Devils which we did. They were active at the time and we observed them playing and chasing each other with easy viewing in a large vegetated area. I don't know if they are always that active. The Meerkats were interesting to watch as they always are. This is a privately run zoo with... More

Our grandchildren were visiting and I was looking forward to taking them to the zoo. What a disappointment! The place looked run down and staff couldn't be bothered to interact with the visitors. Many areas had no animals. Some enclosures contained animals, but they couldn't be seen. I visited this place four years ago and was impressed. It has changed... More

hat a fantastic place, wander around at your own pace, the animals were actually coming up to us at the fence. No crowds, well set out and the kids thoroughly enjoy the dinosaur park.
