African, Egyptian, European and more. Paintings, sculpture, jewelry, and many other cultural artifacts. Docents are very helpful and will set up guided tours for groups. Rotating exhibits keep it fresh.

I'm a medievalist and this museum has just enough to keep me interested. The greek/roman art is especially abundant. The other neat aspect of this museum is its design. Apparently there are almost no right angles inside. But therein lies a problem -- I can't stand the crooked stairs. They drive me nuts - I always feel like I'm going... More

Setting on the campus of Indiana University is a unique modern architecture building among old European architecture of the campus. Quite a wide variety of art collections from a vast period of time. The lower floor contains some beautiful Christian art and artifacts from hundreds of years ago. A tour of the floors, reveals everything from modern to traditional arts.

The actual building is beautiful. Designed by I. M. Pei. We saw 2 of the 3 stories as we ran out of time. We liked the first floor the best as it had mostly contemporary art. The museum has a nice collection but nothing earth shattering. It is a nice way to spend 1-2 hours in the heat or cold... More

No right angles in I.M. Pei's building. Striking entry area with lots of light. The galleries have wonderful collections that the students and visitors can savor.

I visited the art museum when I was really bored during fall break when we had a long weekend and everyone was out of town so campus was empty. I was really impressed by the artwork at the museum and how much artwork there really is there. They have a great number of pieces. Not a big art guy but... More

This world class art museum (designed by im pei) is structurally and visually quite interesting, plus the collections are truly impressive for an often unrecognized Indiana Museum of Fine Art. The modern, post impressionism and impressionism galleries are terrific (with the likes of Caillebotte, Van Gogh, Marcel Duchamp and an incredible large Picasso) plus many, many more well known artists.... This art museum was beautiful and worth a visit. There was a great variety of art. The cool thing is it's free! If you love art you must visit this museum. You can take photographs as long as you don't use a flash.
