Born as a garage startup, our all ages, family-friendly brewery taproom is located in beautiful downtown Bloomington. Passionate about our craft, we work and play by our guiding principles to redefine the brewery experience and positively impact our community. Featuring local ciders, a seasonally rotating wine list and now authentic Mexican food from Estción De Sabor located right inside the taproom! Vegan options available! Due to the addition of the Pizza Kitchen, the Monroe County Health code requires our facility is no longer dog friendly, however our patio remains dog-friendly! We took some friend from out of town there and there were a couple of guys playing music. Very relaxing and enjoyable. Great service by Michelle. She always gives us great service. Out friends enjoyed themselves and said they would like to go back there next visit.

Great beer - always new flavors to try! Relaxing, friendly, casual environment. Fun place to hang out, have a meeting, play games, or just relax.
I am a taproom regular and love going to trivia nights, but also come often on other days to play cards or celebrate special occasions. It's my go-to spot in Bloomington!

Love this place! The beer is great, the service is great, and it's a wonderful local establishment. It's family and dog friendly and has a lovely outdoor patio available for good weather days. It's a great place to bring family and friends for some fun and drinks. I'm lucky to have Switchyard so close! I love coming here for to-go beers, bringing friends from out of town, or playing cards with my partner while we share a pitcher.

Love this place. They brew all kinds of beers, from IPAs to stouts and porters. The environment is great, very chill vibe. Great place to hang out with friends and drink beer. They have board games there that you can play, and my friends and I bring our own games in and play and drink. One time they even had Mario Kart on the N64!! Also, it's pet friendly so you can bring your dogs in. I go there often and while they were closed during the pandemic, they continued to offer excellent service through delivery and pick-up. 10/10 I highly recommend!

We went here for lunch with a group of friends and they have a good selection of pizza and beers. We got a couple of flights and shared some pizzas. I love when the pepperonis are just a little burnt. So good! You also don't tip as it is part of the cost. That is nice and the service was great either way!

My wife and I had said for years Bloomington needed a casual, family friendly brewery and we finally got it with Switchyard. Great place to meet up and hang out with friends. Can’t wait for king dough pizza to be there soon too!

I love this place. They have excellent brew. The owners are down to earth and willing to talk about beer and brewing with customers. They are very welcoming and friendly to anyone. They welcome dogs (they don't prepare food on site). They welcome all ages as well.
It's a great place to watch a football (soccer for Americans) match & enjoy a pint. There are usually other knowledgeable football fans enjoying the match as well.

Not a fan of the beers they make, but this place is new in Bloomington and has a positive vibe, so I remain optimistic about liking it more soon. Wish they would expedite getting the kitchen going.

Thanks for checking us out, and for supporting local, independent craft beer! We appreciate the review and for remaining optimistic about our beer selections. As of the writing of your review (June 7) we had a limited amount of beers on tap - only four - I'll admit, it's not exactly a wide variety to capture a large audience. As I type this, we are kegging our tenth beer, a Blackberry Wheat, which will be released to the taproom later this week. In addition to this beer, we have released our Hopscotch Coffee Stout, a Lemongrass Wit, and a wonderful Double-Dry Hopped Session IPA. I hope you'll come back to the taproom soon to visit us and have another flight! And don't forget, with every flight sold, you receive a wooden nickel, which can be used to either donate $1 to our monthly non-profit or take $1 off our merchandise!
As far as the kitchen is concerned, you won't likely see one anytime in the foreseeable future. As a dog-friendly taproom, we have a food truck right outside every day from 11 am - 11 pm, or you are certainly welcome to go next door to Papa Johns and grab a pizza, or get your own food brought in either from home or another restaurant. We believe in focusing all our energy, resources, and finances towards our primary product - great beer. We enjoy having a pint with our four-legged friends, and from the reviews, our customers have provided so far, they really do too!
We get it, Bloomington is really used to the brewpub concept. Bloomington Brewing Company has been around since 1994, and Upland since '97. Food and beer do go really well together, but the overwhelming majority of breweries in the U.S are exactly our concept - a production brewery taproom.
We love our mix of industrial and rustic and feel that our community will embrace Switchyard as a place to come visit before or after dinner, or to celebrate their next big milestone or accomplishment.

Weirdest experience - got some beers at the bar - when we were ready to order food - were told kitchen was closed - all out of food - why would you not inform right away?

Rented the board room at Switchyard and food from Estacion D Sabor for a party. The staff was so friendly and helpful and the room was set up with the food and ready to go when we arrived. The food was delicious!!!!!
