We stopped by for a few pints (rye ipa, westcoast ipa, coffee stout and porter) and sat at the bar. It is a very spacious space with lots of different types of seating to suit everyone's needs. Our server was nice and the beer was good. They are dog and child friendly (not a need of ours, but worth mentioning). We were there on Dec 31st in the afternoon and the staff was setting up for the New Years Eve party. We did get to enjoy the food truck (Phils Party Taco) which was awesome and made for a tasty late lunch. The only thing that was odd was when we tried to get some beer to go. We saw the crowler machine and asked, but they were out of cans. We then asked about a growler and the were out of those as well. Being in a college town where you have people traveling in all the time, it sure seems like a bad idea to not have any to go containers available for those customers. Not everyone is a local with a growler. And to not be stocked up during the holidays seems like an even worse idea. So, we left feeling disappointed, which sucked because we had a nice time up until then.

I’ve been to Switchyard a few times and have always enjoyed my experience. This previous Friday night it was rather busy and hard to snag a table, but the vibes were great, the staff worked hard to get everyone seated and fed, and everyone was having lots of fun. Our server, Rachel, was extremely friendly and gave great recommendations. The new hard seltzer was a great option for people who aren’t beer connoisseurs, such as myself. For the start of your evening out, I’d highly recommend stopping in Switchyard, ordering to your table using your phone and bringing along loved ones to enjoy yourself.

Switchyard is a great brewery with a nice open feel and lots of tables. As a native Texan, this is more of the brewery I'm used to than some of the other taprooms in town. The beer is great with lots of different options, and staff are very friendly. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I swung by several times to pick up curbside, which was very convenient and safe. Once I couldn't get out due to stuff I was needing to do, and the brewery staff came to drop off the beer at my door. Definitely worth checking out.
