Such a phenomenal day out with my family!! Most family fun places are really only fun for the kids. Not the case here. My husband and I had just as much fun as my 12 & 10 year olds!! Check this place out!! It really is an awesome time!
I can’t wait to go back and try out the bigger course! I will be giving gift certificates out to all of my family members for Christmas this year!

It was my first time going and I had an absolute wonderful time and it was amazing and would absolutely recommend for basically any season from starting when it gets warmer to when it gets a little bit chillier to fall people there were absolutely great. Very nice experience was fun and absolutely amazing. We totally recommend if you’re in town or with kids or anywhere.

Brought my kids to this amazing outdoors experience. My goal was to get them out of the house and go outside for a few hours to enjoy the weather. All of us faced our fears and took turns cheering each other on as we climbed and swung from tree to tree. We had GoApe lanyards with clear pouches where we put our phones to take pictures. We got some great shots and created awesome memories. Already planning another trip back for round 2.

We booked a 9 a.m. Go Ape Tree Top Adventure and it was thundering and lightning so obviously it wasn't safe to be swinging from the trees. When I called to get a refund, they were not helpful at all and refused to give me a refund. They said the course was open (which I don't know how since there were thunderstorms). No one would let me speak to a manager and they kept saying someone would call me back. I had to call back 3 hours later since I never heard back from them and they still refused to refund my money. I even asked to meet me halfway and refund one adult since I would reschedule and book it for both my children for the smaller course. I was still told no. Very unhappy with the customer service here which is disappointing because my kids really love the place. Honestly, I will have to take my business elsewhere.

Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I am sorry to hear you were disappointed with your recent Go Ape experience. I have spoken with our site team and hopefully, I can provide some clarification on some of the issues you have addressed.
On the date of your adventure, the Chicago location remained in operation. Safety is our main priority here at Go Ape! Our staff continuously monitor weather conditions to allow for course operation. Our records show no thunder or lightning reported in the area. Sporadic rain showers were reported. Go Ape is open rain or shine and the ultimate all-weather outdoor activity!
Our Enterprise team was able to meet you halfway with a monetary refund for one adult ticket and a refund gift card for one youth ticket.
Again, we appreciate your feedback and will use it to further improve our guest experience, particularly in delivering a tree-mendous guest experience. If you have any further concerns, please feel free to reach out to info@goape.com!
Best,
-MP

This review is only for the Treetop Nets playground. Way too expensive and not enough for kids to do. My kids are 11 and 7 and this was on their "summer bucket list". They've both done the Treetop Journey and loved it (the kids course). They were expecting this to be amazing, and based on the price ($30 per kid) so was I. It's well-made and safe, but we've been to similar nets playgrounds that were at least as big (if not bigger) at a much lower price.
There were some little kids there (5 and under) who couldn't get enough and had fun. My kids are a little older and it was OK but got boring once they did everything. There were some other older kids (10-12) who said the same thing.
Positives: customer service, friendly check-in, safety instructions
Negatives: high price, got boring for kids quickly.

While some in our group had a great time, the staff did not really engage our teen participants about what to expect, how to make the most of the experience. Instead they reiterated rules and were patronizing towards our mostly Black group. Additionally I repeatedly reached out to our customer service rep before and after the trip with questions so our group could be best prepared, and never received a response after the initial booking. Feels like they wanted our money far more than they wanted our youth to have a good experience.

Place was nice , kids loved it. But the daily text to go visit got annoying. For 3 months a daily text was sent to notify me of such a good deal. Might as well make the deal their yearly price as often as it is announced.

My 5 year old and I did the Treetop Journey (1 hour) and had a blast. He was so proud of himself he was on a high the rest of the day! The obstacles were challenging enough that I enjoyed them (i tried not to hold on too much), but manageable enough that we were able to get through all three courses w/o any issues within the hour. The setting is beautiful, the obstacles are not too repetitive, and it's so fun to be able to ride the zipline various times. Not every Go Ape has the Journey option which is suitable for adventurous kids 5 and up (though the min is by inches, 39 I believe) and we're so lucky this is accessible to us. All staff members we encountered were great. I think the admission fee is reasonable for what you get.

We went for Mother’s Day and had an amazing time. My husband and son came with. The course was challenging, high and so much fun! I would recommend this to anyone that likes a challenge in the great outdoors!

A five year old should not have been let on this course. My granddaughter was frozen in place she was so frightened and there was nowhere I could take her to get her off the course. Eventually a worker came out to help but it was way to little way too late.

Hi there,
Thank you for your recent visit to Go Ape and for sharing about your experience. While we're bummed to hear that your 5-year-old experienced fear while on the course, we commend them for taking a step into the trees and doing something exciting and new!
Our activities are designed to begin with an on-the-ground training led by a certified course instructor. After successfully completing the training session, we allow guests to continue onto the course for an independent/self-paced experience - that's something that makes the Go Ape experience so unique! We are glad to hear your child was able to be assisted by an instructor, but understand that a more timely response was desired. We have shared this feedback with the site team, to ensure guests of all ages and comfort levels are being accommodated, as desired.
We hope to see you in the trees again soon!
Best,
-MP

Hi there,
Our Treetop Adventure course is divided into 5 "sites", each consisting of high ropes obstacles and 1 zip line (making 5 total). After the training zip, each line is hundreds of feet long.
Cheers,
JK

I’m aware there’s two juniors zip lines. How high off the ground and how long are the juniors zip line?

Hey there,
Thank you Carri for the helpful response! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find out exactly how high and long the zip line at our Western Springs Treetop Junior course is, but typically our Treetop Junior platforms are anywhere from 15-25 feet high! Hope you're able to check it out!

Hi there,
For Treetop Adventure:
· Min age of 10
· Min height of 4’7”
· Max weight of 285 lbs.
· Supervision requirements:
- One participating adult (age 18+) for every two 10-15-year-olds
- Adult signature required for all 16-17 year olds
· Closed toe shoes with closed heels and comfortable clothing
For Treetop Junior:
- Minimum Height – 3’3″
- Maximum weight – 285 lbs.
- Supervision requirements:
- Youth (6-15 years old) – Are able to participate on the course unaccompanied, although adults are welcome to join them. Participating Youths require at least one adult per group of 8 to supervise, either on the course (paying) or from the ground (no charge), for the duration of the activity.
- Child (under 6 years) – Must be accompanied on the course by a participating Adult, one Adult can accompany two under-6's, though we strongly advise a 1-to-1 ratio on the Child’s first visit.
- Closed toe/closed heel shoes and comfortable clothing
I hope that helps!
JK

What are the obstacles they have here? Thinking about a work event but want to know what to expect.
Thank you!
