We paid our first visit three years ago. It was fun seeing all of the classic movie and TV show cars as well as everything else the museum has to offer. The food in the cafeteria was good. Perfect for a family outing on a weekend.

I grew up about 14 miles from there and have been there many times. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger. I remember when it was all in 1 big red barn. They now have 5 large buildings with many different themes. Definitely worth a visit.

Thank you for the 4 Stars and I am happy you enjoyed most of the museum. In regards to the Trump limo, we display cars with unique history and have an exhibit specifically dedicated to cars of the Rich and Famous. This car was owned by someone rich and famous plus it has historic significance as a 1 of 2 Cadillac prototype. We do not include or eliminate historic displays based on political beliefs. It would be just as wrong to exclude a vehicle based on politics as it would be to include it. Our displays are based on historic value and are subject to availability. We did try to negotiate the purchase of a Chrysler 300 once owned by Obama but were unsuccessful. The Trump limo is no more a political statement as the Nazi memorabilia in our military exhibit.

All this is is a used car lot. When walking around the cars and you hear Sales line 2, what does that tell you. Very few of these cars are museum quality. Most of them are cars that have been fixed up with a quick paint job to sell. Alot of the interiors are trash, just not what I would pay to see, could see alot better cars at the local car show. Food in Betty Boop cafe was expensive and terrible. I would not waste your time.

The Volo Auto Museum is not cheap, and it's not a museum. A musuem offers exhibits with historical context and information that is meant to educate. Aside from their military exhibit, which has a limited amount of information, the rest of the "museum" is a used car lot, selling vintage vehicles at above-market prices. The only information you'll find about these cars is their make, model, year, and no-haggle sales price.

Admission is over $10 for adults, which seems steep to enter what is essentially a giant store. The food court is low-end, and the property is overwhelmed with signage, most of them exhorting visitors to not touch or not cross this or that line.

It's a fine place if you are a car buff and want to see old cars. Other than that, it's not much...and the new trolley tour, which costs an additional fee, is the only way to see the celebrity cars....although there are a few comic-book and movie type cars for the kids to look at on the main floor.

Attached to the property is a giant antique mall, filled with mostly garage-sale items. Fun to browse, but seriously...this is not a museum experience and the kids are going to get bored quickly.

Even better is as you read the reviews, several "themes" are evident. The staff is rude, the sales people are obnoxious. The place smells and give people headaches from gas and exhaust fumes (ever heard of an exhaust fan?). The cars are mostly crap they are trying to push on to unsuspecting consumers. This place is basically your old town mall puppy mill. That is certainly the business model they emulate. And to top it all off, the ridiculous owner keeps it all going with his lame responses to reviews he does not like. So, if you like rude people, obnoxious sales, lame ownership, over priced "classics", and a business who will generously give you a refund if you buy a car (really...thanks for charging to come buy a car, but if you don't buy, you owe us $15), then this is your kind of place. Especially since the owner justifies all this mess with selling 1200 cars a year. I guess enough suckers justify a clown show like this.

Here's an example. Advertise a 1969 Chevelle SS396 as "correct". In actuality, it has a 1972 454 smog motor in it. Pretty "correct". I guess the response of "well, it is a Chevelle" was accurate. Nice..., now if you want a disclaimer car "we don't stand by what we sell", you have found your paradise. I have bought 12 cars since dealing with this mess of a business, not one of them there. If you really need to just get rid of some money, go there and buy a bottle opener or something and save the rest of your cash. And if this review helps another poor soul from trusting these folks, then good show! BUYER be PLENTY AWARE!

Another theme is we receive 93% positive feed back and only 3% negative, as well as an A+ with the BBB. This is because we do stand behind our cars and have good business practice. The car you bought 7-8 years ago was advertised as non-matching numbers, correct restoration. The car was very correct except for the as advertised, non-numbers matching engine block. Even though we sold it as a non-numbers matching car, we immediately issued you a full refund of your purchase price. If we didn't stand behind our cars, that is not something we would have offered. Your issues have already been addressed several times over the past 7 years in the reviews you have left previously.

Went to the Volo Auto Museum for the 1st time; always wanted to check the place out. It did not disappoint, and we can't wait to make a return trip. Tons to see and do, and if you're an old car enthusiast, it's a must do.

I found a groupon for $11. We arrived at noon on a summer Fri. We had pizza at the cafeteria which was about $6 per slice. Slices were large and filling but had a funny after taste. The buildings smelled funny and the pizza sort of took on the smell. If I had planned better I would bring a picnic lunch or pick up some Potbelly on the way and eat outside before entering the grounds as they do not allow outside food. We looked at several showrooms and decided to take the train tour. Take the train tour early on to get a lay of the land and available exhibits. It was confusing to find the rest of the displays and I initially thought there was not a lot to see - I was wrong. We were there for over 4 hours and did not even get to the mercantile antique mall area. There were a ton of car exhibits exotic sports cars, celebrity owned cars, movie cars, and a large realistic military and memorabilia display. This kitschy location is definitely worth a visit.

We had a family visit to Volo today. The place has fun features from cars, kid rides, tours, and playgrounds. Avoid the playgrounds, my one year one walking up steps on playground and a step just fell off. There was nail sticking out but luckily no one got hurt. So as a member and my second visit that whole experience infuriated myself and wife. So I will not use my membership again and will not visit again. They maintain the vehicles well maybe they should replace the playgrounds or buy a sturdy type.

Edward, thank you for taking the time to write about your experience. I am sorry to hear about the step falling off but am glad to hear no one was hurt. We do take pride in our facility, upkeep is a huge task and we are constantly working to improve and maintain the facility. I do agree a new playground is needed and we actually have a $30k commercial playground that is scheduled to go in this fall. We have been making repairs to the current playground to allow it to be usable until the new one goes in.

The Volo Auto Museum is a must-see attraction for those people (like me) who are into cars. There are old cars, muscle cars, a few old motorcycles and scooters, and many cars from TV and movies such as the Batmobile, General Lee (Dukes of Hazzard) and one from a 007 movie. There are five buildings of cars plus a few of antiques I didn't visit. Each building is separate, so you have to go outside between buildings, something to keep in mind in the winter. There are no real (active) activities for kids like rides or anything, so keep that in mind. Adult price was about $14 a person. If you want a family membership I think that was about $90. Should be easy to access the facility with a wheelchair or stroller.
