I went to Mermet Springs because I always wanted to do the dry suit class. My former dive instructor recommended me this place. And now I understand why! The staff is super friendly and I felt like I always knew them and I’m part of the family. Thanks to Greg R who taught me how to dive with a dry suit. After I finished the class, I wanted to stay a bit longer to go diving the next day. I asked the staff if they know somebody who wants to go for a night dive. About half an hour later two other divers introduced themselves and asked me if I wanted to join for their night dive. It was a great experience! I also dove with them the next day. I stayed on their campground, the stars are beautiful there! There is a lot to discover at Mermet Springs! The catfish which eat Hot Dogs from your hands (you don’t even have to be underwater for that). Underwater you can see spoonbills, an 727 Boeing airplane, school bus, ambulance, fire truck, and a lot more! I really like that place, I would highly recommend to go there!

This is a nice dive spot with a really friendly and helpful staff. We camped overnight. The campsite has electric but not water. There is a restroom/showerhouse onsite. There is a little snack shack selling burgers, hot dogs, etc. We arrived on Sunday having brake problems on our truck. The staff called a local mechanic for us. It's Monday morning now, and the mechanic is here working on our truck. As far as the diving, there are plenty of things underwater to see, which are all well-marked with buoys and lines. Airplane, bus, fire truck, etc. There are spoonbill and other fish of course.

I have been diving at Mermet for seven years now and my opinion of them has only grown in that time. They are beyond compare with customer service. The facility itself is top notch with food, bathrooms, showers, camping, air fills, and repair all on site. My friends have asked me to dive other sites in the Midwest and I've always told them no...'why would I go somewhere else when I have evething here'? PJ and GLen treats everyone with respect and professionalism. There is no stranger to them...only Family. Heaven forbid if there was an accident, his crew again, are beyond compare. I was a flight nurse before retiring and this group trains for emergencies probably better than some ER's I've been to. If you ever do a dive vacation with them as a group, you will experience a first class vacation. You are cared for at every leg of the trip and everything is planned out to perfection...simply put, travel with them is a joy. Dive here...you won't regret it.

This is a top notch place to dive. The people are friendly, the showers/baths are clean, and the accessibility is great. I would definitely recommend checking this place out. The paddlefish and huge 727 were some of my favorites to see here.
