A must visit I live near here and have gone many times. Never get bored it’s a great museum with real genuine history. Thos airfield was a pivotal base for the RAF in second world war and was heavily bombed by the Luftwaffe. Don’t miss this out if you visit Kent.

Well run free museum…

Excellent free museum which was well curated. Lots to see and read and the 2 planes inside were well preserved and fascinating to look around.

The additional area is currently closed but looks like will be great when re-opened.

It is great that it is free and run by volunteers. I just hope it continues this was and the donations are enough…!

Great little museum and its free entry! Next to Manston Airfield it has a restored Hurricane and a Spitfire. Lots if info and related artifacts. There is also a flight simulator for a Spitfire too.
Good little cafe next door near the memorial garden and views across country.

A great destination for WWII and plane enthusiasts

We visited with our two sons (11 and 13) on the 2nd may bank holiday and found this to be a charming museum which was well run by kind and knowledgeable volunteers. We spent an hour there and one son enjoyed the spitfire simulator experience. There was some great memorabilia on display and the two main planes had been lovingly restored. Good shop too.

Lovely place to visit and stay dry and free admission. Such a lot of information displayed and packed into the space. We spent a couple of hours here. The cafe is also lovely and popular with locals.

What an historical treasure

Friends we are staying with in Kent asked were we interested in visiting a WW@ museum featuring spitfires and hurricanes. We were and we were not disappointed. This voluntary run museum is a treasure trove of WW@ memorabilia including two actual aircraft - a Spitfire and a Hurricane. THe amount of memorabilia on display is a credit to those who have built the collection and the stories around the walls are poignant and comprehensive. Something really worth seeing if you are a local or visiting UK.

Small but just perfect and it's FREE!

It's an intimate museum which manages to pack so much in related to the two aircraft there. Yes as the name implies a Spitfire and Hurricane take pride of place with lots of fascinating memorabilia from the War. Not to be missed !

Wonderful welcome form the lady at the desk who gave us lots of information about what to expect from the museum, the displays were interesting, and it was good to get so close to such iconic aircraft.
