A tribe of Indians inhabited this area in prehistory time.Burial mounds atop of bluffs overlooking the river.Every so often the earth brings up a piece of old pottery, shard of Flint or Arrowhead. Sinnissipi is a small park, but it's ancient and mysterious. It's the place I must visit alone from time to time to sort things out. The old... More

You can easily drive through to get a "lay of the land" but the best way to enjoy the park is to go on a trail walk and try to get lost. The park is bigger than you think and has lots of places to enjoy the forest. There are also lots of placed to let the kids run and... More

A mixture of gentle hills on the east end and higher flats overlooking the Rock River to the west end. While there are two picnic shelters, minimal maintenance has been done... More

I love coming out to Sinnissippi, sometime just to walk and sometimes to take pictures. It has some beautiful path ways and great hidden nooks and cranny's to explore.

We didn't have any luck spotting the "Indian Mounds" that are there, but the bike path and ambiance of the park is great!

We brought our kids here on occasion to cook-out and hike. There are always people out there enjoying nature. My son even had his senior pictures taken there years ago.

This park has ample parking, plenty of picnic areas, a large playground for children, Frisbee golf, a baseball diamond and a variety of walking trails. The park also provides beautiful views of the Rock River. You may see the pelicans that have made nests near the Rock River during the summer as well as Bald Eagles during the fall and... More

There is a great little bridge in the back of the park that leads to a big circle trail. If you don't want to go for a big walk that is ok just take a right and walk along the little stream to the river. You will see so many lilly pads and flowers(if you are there the right time... More
