Ancient and magical

Went for a walk around the stones, it’s so quiet and peaceful. The air around here is clean and invigorating, i miss it already. Must wear wellies and be careful as there are some very boggy areas. It was so quiet my partners tinnitus got bad but if you like a bit of silence and peace this is great for that :)

Interesting Welsh stone circle made from eratic boulders
Oct 2018 • Solo
Visiting ´the Preseli Hills, detoured to see the Gors Fawr Stone Circle at the foot of the hills on open moorland.
Easy to find, with small layby type car park.
Free to visit.
Most of the stones in the circle are eratic boulders from the last iceage.
Stunning setting.
Interesting small Welsh stone circle.
Wear decent boots - the ground is boggy in the Autum!

Intriguing stone circle on the edge of open moorland
Dec 2017 • Family
The stones are sunken in the ground with 2 main ones standing about the height of an adult. Great views all around, with the Preseli's in the background, so take your camera.
The parking is limited and a short walk gets you to the circle. The terrain leading to, and surrounding, the circle is marshy and very wet - boots or wellies recommended.
There are no facilities and it is open ground, so take waterproofs and refreshments. We spent about an hour there taking photos and trying to work out the layout of the stones.

Beautiful and serene

The stones consist of 16 stones, although none rise more than a metre in height. Make sure you find the dreaming stone. They date back to the Neolithic or early Bronze Age. Very boggy surrounding land ....... wear a pair of willies. Lots of sheep :)
