This is a huge ‘bath’ and is carved out of rock with stone steps down to it. As it has apparently been expanded for more modern water demand it is not clear what it used to look like.

It is not clear, when the "bath" was established but it is there for millenia. Most probably it has been used as water reservoir for dry season period. Nothing spectacular but impressive volume hewn from solid rock.

On the road with the the main sites, so super easy to visit. You don’t need a guide for these sites if you have done your historical research. Walk this route - it’s long and hot but doable - or take a tuk-tuk up and walk back.

You can see the stone cut steps which the Queen must have used but since this basin has been significantly expanded to capture more rainwater for use by the local population (which you can see first hand) it is difficult too get an idea what it must have been like

May Shum Cistern was built by the Queen of Sheba in the first millennium BC. We stopped for few minutes to see the Bath of Queen of Sheba. The water level will be much higher during the rainy season.

Drove pass this whilst on The Queen of Sheba tour. Large green pool where some local people do their washing.

Not much to look at - modern engineering enclosure on two sides, but fascinating to think that the Queen of Sheba may have come for a dip.

The bath is only remarkable because thousands of years after they were constricted, they are still being used for bathing by men, and cattle comes down to drink water
