This place is very interesting to visit even in the winter. The Nature center has very interesing activities for children and adults. The bid watching area not to miss. It has a large window where you can see the landscape in the distance. It is a nice picture spot.

The land owned by Spring Valley is deceptively larger than you would think just driving around. They have a functioning old barn and very cool gift shop. But that's not the reason to go here - the miles of paths and natural beauty that one wouldn't think even existed within Schaumburg anymore - that's the reason to come. There are... More

Have always enjoyed coming to this location. A nice quite place "to get away". The walks here are very neat and the nature here makes it a fun place to visit!

One of our favorite places to go with the kids. Wonderful also for an adult walk in a great setting. We visit often.

This is a great , calm, farm/park valley reminding our origins! Volunteers make it great by explaining what and how the immigrants (in this case European and whoever came towards the Schaumburg location years ago) used to live... It's a great oasis- great walk...not expensive at all.

Instead of going to another of the many expensive attractions in the area, we decided to check this place out. It was wonderful. The volunteers that work here are kind and eager to help and so knowledgeable about the parks many features and history. We walked all the trails. The fall colors were nice and I can assume spring would... More

Just a short way from the bustle and crowds of Woodfield Mall you can get back to nature at Spring Valley. Stretch your legs on the walking trails that meander among prairie and woodlands that are full of native species. Check out the log cabin dating from the 1930s made of imported cedar wood. Visit the working farm and say... More

Surrounded by the suburban sprawl of Schaumburg, this is an oasis going back in time. I can imagine this was how Schaumburg was 100 years ago. I'll just list a bunch of the attractions: - There are miles of paths to walk (I actually work close by - and would go here for 45 minutes over lunch to just relax... More

My family has been visiting Spring Valley, formerly know as "Wind Song Ranch" for over 60 years. Frank P. Merkle had Morning Swans (white), a couple of pair of black swans, peacocks and lots of transient Canadian geese. He also tended 15 acres of Peonies, probably every variety on Earth! He lived a frugal life alone in a log cabin,... More

I love the fact you can enjoy the park any time of the year. It's very quiet despite the fact it's situated between busy streets. I recommend using bug spray if you want to visit in the warm months. Also there is many activities for kids on the weekends
