beautiful place in mddle of town

This place, combined with the adjacent historic farm, is a treasure considering it is very close to Woodfield

My boys grew up at Spring Valley nature center with summer camps, nature lectures, maple syrup festivals, Halloween happenings, and hiking. Now they are seventeen and want to volunteer because they still have great times at the center. Located in Schaumburg, IL and supported by the community and the park district, the nature center is getting better every year, look... More

This is a nice escape from the city in the middle of Schaumburg. There is a small lake and a creek that go thru the nature center. They have various activities on certain weekends and there is a farm on the west side of the center. A very peaceful place to walk

This was a really nice little place to visit. Easy, level walking trails, a nice little pond, lots of wildflowers, a little cabin & a little German farm with animals & guides dressed in period costumes. All for free, donations are excepted but not expected. Well worth the stop.

We stumbled on this free park in the middle of Schaumburg during our brief trip and loved it so much we went back a 2nd time during our stay. It is part Wild Prairie "gardens" and part Mid 1800's living museum. There are docents dressed in period attire that are so knowledgeable and spend time explaining life of a German... More

My husband and I had some time in the area before we met our daughter and we chose this. There was ample parking, no admission fee, and nicely maintained walking trails. We met several walkers while we were there. The trees are identified by a plaque on a wooden stand, so i imagine this is a favorite for nearby school... More

The beauty and serenity that is Spring Valley has to be enjoyed first-hand to be believed. A wonderful oasis in the middle of Schaumburg! Such a treasure to be enjoyed by all! Flowers, trees, birds, butterflies, grasses, woods, water, sky, and an abundance of nature and prairie, the way the land used to be. Spring Valley is not a huge... More

My son and I were looking for something to do on a recent weekend and found Spring Valley. My son is not so much into the trails nor the visitor center. However, he really enjoyed checking out the working farm. Docents in period dress take you on a carriage ride, allow the kids to play games that were typical at... More
