I had high expectations after reading many wonderful reviews. Thought it would be something like the Avon River in Christchurch which I had visited and loved 2 years ago. But I was frankly a little disappointed. We strolled in the vicinity of the Adelaide Festival Centre and had breakfast at Elders Park Café. There was a tentage blocking the views... More

Ended up here by chance and simply loved the riverside walking path with numerous birds in the river (directed NOT to feed) and the Adelaide Oval in the backdrop. Can see a lot of people jogging and others cycling along but we chose to simply walk leisurely around. Good to see.

I have only been to a couple of sections of this very long park, but it is well worth the visit, whichever part of Adelaide you are in. Good paths, well kept - and so green!

A great place to get some exercise and enjoy nature in the heart of Adelaide. The linear park winds along the Torrens River and passes by the botanic gardens, zoo, Adelaide Oval and Festival Centre.

We biked the trail from the ocean into the city, passing through horse country, marsh, deep forest, and open parkland. Terrific park for getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city. More maps along the way would be nice - we sometimes had to guess which side was more appropriate. But I'll definitely go back.

just on edge of city is the path that runs from Athelstone in hills to West Beach. Some of the signage could really be much better as if you do not cross the river at the correct spot you have to either turn back or leave the path and find your way back further along past the houses. Bikes are... More

Was told of "river torrens" by locals when 1st moved to Adelaide. So checked it out. By my classification, not a river, as dammed to hold water in...but that aside, a great escape from city noise; best running track in town, and on a bike a great way to connect beach with hills...with blackberries enroute in season

We did the walk around 6pm as the sun was going down and it was so picturesque! It's a beautiful walk and well worth doing.
