This was awesome! Definitely learned a lot about distilling alcohol and the history behind it. And for the tasting part we taste tested 12 different spirits and a history behind each. The attached bar is very cozy and the bartender was a sweetheart

My husband and I bought tickets for a distillery tour at Quincy Street Distillery through Living Social. We didn't really know what to expect. We had both been on winery tours before so we expected it to be similar. Quincy Street Distillery is very quaint! We ended up being the only people signed up for a tour, but it was great! Derrick explained everything and you can tell he is really passionate about what he does. The whiskey is great too! I would definitely recommend the tour to anyone interested in how whiskey is made. But even if you don't want to take the tour, you the front of the distillery has a bar where you can try the different types of whiskies.

Every spirit has a history here -- named for local phenomena. I got to taste absinthe, two kinds of gin, and a honey spirit. A tour of the distillery facilities was fascinating. I highly recommend this place. The owner is so knowledgeable about every aspect of the spirits he sells, and is happy to talk about historic recipes on which his products are based.

Great cocktails. Different from mainstream bars. Bartenders are usually enjoyable to talk with. Service can be slow.

Quincy street is a nice stop off in a visit to the Village of Riverside. The libations are getting better with each new distilled batch and the bartenders in the tasting room have a good selection of some tasty cocktails to make for you. The prices are reasonable and you can sign up for a group tour and tasting room drink. Definitely a good time.

Our friends live in Berwyn so we thought this would be a fun thing to do close to home. Tiny little distillery, but size does not matter here. Derek, the owner, gives a great tour which covers the history and making of whiskey, among other spirits. Who knew you needed whiskey during the Civil War to make your water drinkable, and other wonderful historic gems. You do stand for the tour in two small rooms, but it goes by fast. A tiny bit stuffy for a hot July day, but not unbearable. Afterward the tasting is another treat, about 12 samples of various whiskeys and spirits with background on each as to flavor, aging, etc. Don't leave without treating yourself to a cocktail, they are well crafted, different and affordable. We had fun and don't even drink whiskey!

Interest craft spirits in the heart of the town designed by Olmsted. Distilled on premises. Cocktails present the perfect mix of history and new world. Right off the BNSF Riverside stop.

We came here with a Groupon with another couple who have background in science and history. We enjoyed the tour very much. Not much walking, but standing time could be over 1 hour. If you need a seat, it can be arranged. We were planning on a 90 min tour, and we ended up staying for 2.5 hours. We probably wouldn't mind staying if we weren't paying for babysitting at home too. Ambiance, decor, service, and experience were all superb. Our tour included 2 other couples, 1 elderly couple and 1 younger couple where the man has a home brew, 8 in all. He was able to share some thoughts on home brew process. The elderly couple were able to chime in with some popular old time favorite drinks. The bar is tiny, so you can't bring 10 of your friends and expect all to get a bar stool. The guide is a retired physics professor, and his stories are mainly from the 19th century-early 20th century, post Civil War to Prohibition. The bottles sold at a very reasonable price. Although no steps, it's too tight to be wheelchair accessible. This is good for tourists who speaks more than high school English and know something about American history, or else it could be very boring.

Very thorough tour with the best tasting room we've ever visited, 12 samples. The owner (I don't remember his name) shows his knowledge and his passion for Illinois distilling and its history.

This is such a cool place to visit! You will get an awesome tour by the owner, Derek, who is obviously VERY passionate about his business. You'll learn some cool facts and history about distilling in IL and the US. Afterwards, you get to taste a sampling of all the spirits they make. Coby is also a wonderful hostess and can make some awesome drinks if you want to stay a while.
