Lovely alpine meadows.

Semenovskoe is less dramatic than neighboring Grigorevskoe but lovely nonetheless. There are fewer sheer cliffs but more open meadows including a high large alpine meadow. The road is tough but we made it in our sedan. You can follow the road all the way to the high end of Grigorevskoe Gorge but we saved that for another day (and accessed it from the highway).

Its the best destination on North shore of Issyk Kul. 1 hour drive from Chol Ata city.
Road is very smooth and nice. Valley features alpine forest, river and wide meadows. It connects to Grigoriev valley at the end by a road. Yurt camps are available for stay

Gorge with alpine meadows

It is better to combine this gorge with the Grigorievsky Gorge, the road is circular, it is very convenient to see both meadows and mountain views. The best views are at the very end of the road, when you leave the gorge and turn into Grigorievskoye.

The road is not of very high quality, it is better to take a crossover or SUV for a comfortable trip.
