We decided to take the kids on a Route 66 spring break trip in the RV. We went into town and fell in love. Everything was adorable. Great murals and art throughout town. We stopped at the Route 66 museum first and they said to follow the blue footprints on the sidewalk to the automobile museum. Follow the red footprints to see the murals. The kids thought the cars were really cool. We got matchbox cars and an ornament for our tree. The owner was extremely nice. I highly recommend the stop.

Stopped on a pilgrimage across route 66. Within walking distance of the town center and plenty of street parking make this neat little museum and easy and recommended stop. Admission is free, opting for donations and sales of merchandise to sustain the attraction. Not a huge space, but several pristine examples of American automotive history and tons of car related memorabilia. The staff were friendly, welcoming and happy to answer any questions. One of several enjoyable surprises in the quaint town of Pontiac.

While passing through on historic Route 66 on a motorcycle trip, we stopped by this small, but interesting museum on the courthouse Square. It is a short stroll from the Route 66 Hall of Fame museum.

It’s filled with some interesting cars that have the same name as the city it is located in. For most people this will be a 30 minute stop.

It’s free, I’d encourage you to leave a donation.

We are avid Pontiac GTO lovers so when we had to make an overnight pit stop in IL to avoid snowstorms we found this gem of a place. Met the owners and were able to get the history of the museum and the items inside. They have a library full of Pontiac historical books/brochures. If you like Pontiac, this is a must stop for you.

Not a very big museum. Add it in with the Route 66 Museum and you have a great day!! Pontiac has been around a long time and it shows with the variety and styles of vehicles. Also has a small gift shop area. Great place to visit on a hot summer day. AC is awesome too!!

Didn't have much time while visiting Pontiac to do this museum justice, but what i did see was well laid out, interesting even if not a big American automobile fan.

Pontiac is a great little place and if you are ever passing through and you love cars, then stop here. Entry is by donation only and they have a few great cars. The owner really puts the effort in to make this a wonderful little museum and he is very friendly and knowledgeable about the cars and their history.

A small amount of nice automobiles and Route 66 memorabilia. Myself and my wife both enjoyed the exhibits.
