I was concerned there may not be enough here to interest my older kid (10), but both he and his 6 year old brother (and I!) had so much fun here. The exhibits were very engaging, clean, and varied enough that we spent a few hours here. Our top faves were the kinetic sand porch (including the giant vacuums to clean ourselves off with afterward), the ball cannon, the construction area where they could operate a kid-sized (which is still pretty big) loader, the tools area where staff helped them saw, nail, drill, and create in a safe way, and surprisingly the train room. We have many train pieces at home, but for some reason, they loved playing with them here on the train tables more than at home. Parking was a breeze, the air conditioning was great even on a scorching hot summer day, and admission was reasonable. I have seen coupons online, though, and there was discounted admission after 2:00. The place was not crowded at all, which was a nice change from some other kids museums we’ve been to. If you are nearby and need an afternoon out with the kids, it’s definitely on the to-do list at least once.

This place is amazing, so many things for little ones to touch and and explore, that are sage for them.

We were visiting family in the Peoria area on a rainy day, so we looked for something to do. This is a great place for kids on a rainy, cold day. My daughter loved the building section; she got to use a real saw, hammers, etc. She was also a big fan of the simple machines area; kids can learn about levers, inclined planes, etc. all while playing with balls! It's a great place for kids to get some serious energy out.

Approximately 40 people in our party spent 2 hours exploring the museum. By far, the favorites were the water table and the ball room. We then moved to a private room for cake and gift opening, overseen by a very attentive staff member-no clean-up! The afternoon was enjoyed by everyone from 2-80.

What a great use for this building that used to house the park district offices. Took my grandchildren who are 3 & 6 and spent all day playing on the many different rooms and themes.
