Easily walk-able zoo!

Great thing to take your kids of any age too. Loved being able to walk so close to Emu's and Wallabies. For a small city to have this zoo is wonderful.

My partner and I took my 80+ year old parents to the zoo when we were visiting them from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I grew up in East Peoria and I had been to the zoo as a child and a teenager. It is so much improved from back in the 1980s! We wanted to get my parents out of the... More

Too few fauna to excite me but for the city to maintain even that is applaud-able. Take your kids to show them what your city offers. Not for out-of-towners.

We had a wonderful time at the beautiful Peoria Zoo. Not too big and not too small, this zoo had enjoyable exhibits for everyone in the family. Lovely trees surround many of the exhibits so not only was it more natural.. it helped with the heat. Kind, friendly staff. The baby giraffe is a must see, and the kids (6... More

My husband and visited the Peoria Zoo on a beautiful day in August. We wanted to see the new baby giraffe which was adorable. We also got to see the baby African hogs. It was fun to watch the dad hog playing tag with the four baby hogs. I didn't realize they liked to run and play. We noticed a... More

This is a surprisingly good smaller zoo-has expanded in recent years to included some big attractions. These include tigers, a lion pair, giraffes (we had a new baby born in July of 2016). Kind of nice to be able to go to as zoo and not feel exhausted after a visit!

We always enjoy our time at the Peoria Zoo. The Africa section and monkeys are always a hit. Great with small kids. There is also a fun castle play-land across the park.

For a city as small as Peoria Illinois, this is an outstanding zoo. The animals have large enclosures so they can freely roam but yet you can almost always see them. The lion, giraffe, and rhino exhibits are exceptional. The zoo is large enough to tire someone of retirement age. The only complaint is that the slope for the walkway... More

We love the Peoria Zoo! We have been members for almost 5 years now. This zoo is very walkable and you could spend 1 hour or 5 hours. It would depend on how long you like to look at the animals. The updated Africa is awesome. Lions, Giraffe, Rhinos and Zebras. Plus a lot more. Over the years we have... More
