The outside is nice. The interior is stupendous and well worth the price of admission. The woodwork and stained glass windows alone can be studied for hours. The mosaics and lighting are not to be missed in detail either.

Friends rented Pleasant Home for a christening. It easily accommodated the 75-80 people in attendance. This venue is both cozy and impressive. Lovely painted surfaces, woods, and stained glass. The event was catered, and the staff were very friendly. A happy experience.

Set in a lovely local park, this house is chock full of history and interesting stories abound. It's definitely worth the minimal fee to get in, but if you're tall, you will come out with a sore back. It's not like the doctor's; it's much...More

One thing is for sure, Pleasant home is an offbeat place to visit. I was the lone visitor when I visited the house on a July Sunday. Frankly, the house lacks the distinct, innovative and lovely features shared by many Frank Lloyd Wright works. And...More

Hi Yuan, I'm glad you had the chance to visit Pleasant Home in July - I'm sure it was pretty hot inside! You're right, George Maher's take on Prairie Style was much different than his contemporary, FLWright, but what a great way to compare &...More

I visited this mansion for free during the 2016 Open House Chicago event. Do not miss a chance to tour this place. There was no wait to enter but this large house was full of visitors. Interior photography was allowed during the event.More

Pleasant Home is a spectacular older mansion well worth seeing, sort of Prairie style meets the Gilded Age.

Hi, There is no parking lot for visitors coming to tour the house. They do have lots of street parking all around that is free.
