More
The Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio served as Wright's private residence and workplace from 1889 to 1909--the first 20 years of his career. Here Wright developed a new American architecture: the Prairie style. Trained interpreters offer insights into Wright's family life and architectural career. Enjoy guided tours of the museum complex and neighboring historic district seven days a week. Tour details are available on the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust website.

Make reservations in advance, the tours sell out. Frank Lloyd Wright bought this home BEFORE he had fully developed his prairie style, but modified the home over the years. Touring the home gives you an idea of how his style developed over the years. There...More

Frank Lloyd Wright's first home and his own studio, which was added later, are 'must-sees' for any FLW fan. But the beauty of this place is that it will also be interesting for those who know nothing or next to nothing about the master architect...More

I didn't know a lot about Frank Lloyd Wright, but loved the tour and learning more. Both this tour and the walking tour were worth the time and money. The Oak Park community itself was beautiful--loved spending the weekend here.

Interesting to see and hear about his beginnings. Even if you're not a FLW fan (which I am not) it was fascinating to see how he lived and began his career. Afterwards, walking the neighborhood was most enjoyable and viewing other homes he'd designed.

We went on the conducted tour of the house and studio which was excellent. We learnt along about how Lloyd Wright's style evolved and it was lovely to see how the family lived.

Yes, we visited on a Saturday morning of a holiday weekend and no issues. As the day got later was much harder to find parking. Visit in the morning is my suggestion!
