Planica and Planica Nordic Center is one of the points which you must visit if you are in the Kranjska Gora (for all ages). You can go to Planica on foot, with bikes, cars....The price for parking car is 2,5 EUR for all day.

The place is interested all the year times. It is starting-point for hiking on the mountains or valley Tamar.

Planinca is known by ski jumps and ski flights. There are paths of ski races.

For the whole family, it was a unique experience in a breathtaking Alpine environment.
Very kind and professional approach, which makes you feel safe. The attraction is exciting and unusual but not at all risky.
Our only regrets are that we did not book at least two rides per person so that we could enjoy it better and that we did not plan to stay a couple of hours more to explore the surroundings. The impressive ski-jump complex (there are 8 ski jumps) is worth a visit even without any other activity.
There are enough parking places, where you can park for the whole day for € 2.5.

If you are a ski jumping fan, going to the Planica Valley is a must-go for you. Now there lies great Nordic center with many ski jumping hills (including Letalnica bratov Gorišek as still the most spectacular ski flying hill in the world with a great incline to the top), Planica museum with nice collection of the ski jumping and Planica history (a ticket costs 6 € for adults), indoor cross country snowy road and, if you want to enjoy some adrenaline and flying, there are the famous zip-line experience from the top of the Letalnica bratov Gorišek (costs 25 €, you must reserve it earlier) and wind tunnel (costs 50 €).

To reach the top of the ski flying hill, you can use the chair lift (costs 4 € for adults for up and down) or can walk through nearly 1000 steps till the top. As the Nordic center opens on around 9 AM in the morning, I recommend to go there as early as possible as there will be many visitors especially on weekends. On the way to the top of ski jumping hills, you can many times see training jumps of ski jumpers as many of them (also from Japan, Russia and other countries) are training there to have good results, therefore you can maybe also see some famous people from the ski jumping world as they train in Planica. It is also possible to have a guided tour with the combination of Planica museum and ascending to the top of the Letalnica bratov Gorišek (it costs together 9 €, in contrast to individual 6+4 = 10 €), but it starts every 2 hours (as long as this guided tour last) at least on the beginning of the day. If you don't have much time and want to do some more things for a day, I therefore recommend to visit the museum and Letalnica alone without a guided tour. For other destinations nearly, you have possibilities to go to Kranjska Gora (another famous ski sporting resort, known for its Podkoren ski slope for Pokal Vitranc in the Fis Alpine Skiing World Cup), the beautiful Lake Jasna and the Vršič Pass, but it is also the famous Lake Bled only 30 minutes away with a car and the Lake Bohinj with amazing cable car ride on Vogel (with amazing views to the Lake Bohinj and Julian Alps) 1 hour away. All the way you also see the Julian Alps, the highest mountain range in Slovenia which is also see from the Planica Valley. Have a nice time in the Slovenian Alps and Slovenia overall.

I went to Planica for the wind tunnel. The experence was great and the instructors were very nice - 5 stars.
But the staff at the front desk was horrible. They canceled my reservation one day before. They called us after working hours (after 17.00) and just canceled the wind tunnel reservation, without an apology or reason. When we called them back, no one answered. We had to extend our stay for a day in the hotel which was quite expensive as it was the weekend and the reservation was made in the last minute. When we confronted them they didn't care - 1 star.

We were there when there was no snow, but that did not stop jumpers or even cross country skiers. Mostly young people were practicing on the several ski jump areas and it was fun to watch. In the lower level of the parking garage there was snow which was being used by skiers and later a photo group shooting Santa. There was an excellent movie about the history of jumping. Well worth the trip.

Put yourself in the shoes of world ski jumpers and engage your inner Eddie the Eagle.

The Planica Sports complex is a must whilst in Slovenia. Boasting the biggest ski jump in the world you must try the zip line and put yourself in the shoes of what it must be like to be an Olympic ski jumper. This is seriously a once in a lifetime opportunity that cannot be missed.

A lot of investment has gone into this valley, - last time we were there, it was just one hill, with work just starting. Now it has been completed, its fantastic to see what they have done. It's well worth a visit, to stand at the bottom and look up to the point they jump from, and where they land is amazing(TV pictures don't give the real perspective). Well worth going.
