Took an afternoon ride with my elderly parents while in town visiting. Knew the schedule but waited around 20 minutes in Davenport at the East Village dock for the boat to arrive. Wasn't sure if we'd get on looking at the amount of people on board but thankfully most of them got off. Hopped on and had a good ride over to Arsenal Island and then the boat started filling up. Ended up with the boat being completely full and no spacing between you and strangers ( I guess no worries about COVID anymore). Was surprised that they were not running another boat since it was full and they have several boats.

Overall, it was a nice ride but there is no guarantee you will be able to get on if the boat is full so be prepared just in case.

Rode on the Channel Cat with my family. Cool time to go this year due to getting to go under the construction of the new I-74 Bridge.

I was making faces at this dude with a cubs face mask. This guy was staring at me and making faces and stuff. Kinda creeped.

My family and I love to take the Channel Cat at least once a summer. It's a pleasant way to get out on the river and enjoy the scenery. The only down side is seating - since people can stay on for a full circuit, there are times when the boat is full, no one disembarks, and so you can wind up waiting for a couple of boats to arrive in order to actually be able to ride on the river. However, if you show up with flexibility in mind, your ride will be a dream.

This boat ride wipes away the grime of everyday worries. The temperature drops; the river takes over. The river narrows and widens and is populated by pelicans, seagulls, herons, bald eagles and other critters. The boat takes you under the I-74 bridge under construction and it's amazing. By the time you make the full circuit (or get off for lunch at one of the stops), you'll feel as if you'd been massaged for an hour by the river itself. My wife and I go several times every year and it's never the same.

We went for a leisurely ride along the river for my birthday. It was such a nice day and several families with bicycles used the taxi to cross or get to a restaurant. The captain was cheerful and fun. Pointed out some wildlife to us. Overall just a great experience. Will definitely go again.

I had a great time on the Channel Cat. Got to see a lot of things along the banks and marinas on the Mississippi
I would have loved to have a narration to point out things along the ride. Great view of the riverfront mansions

Not really a taxi... more of a bus that circles between 4 stops. Get on early 9to11 as it fills up later in the day. The more is that you travel under the new bridge that is going up (at the speed they're building it you have lots of time). Check out schedule on the Metrolink website.

I have always loved riding the Channel Cat, but our last visit was less than enjoyable. We decided to take our grandchildren before school started. It was a wonderful day. I understand the backlog because of the early spring weather, but my goodness, the help was horribly inexperienced and unfriendly. We got off at John Deere Commons. It was a great day until we tried to reboard at 3:30. I’m certain there were at least eight people that got off, but the helper said they could only take two! Really?? I also understand the limit, but there were plenty of seats available. My granddaughter and I ended up getting on, but leaving my grandson and husband behind only to pick them up later. We had intended on riding another round. Something was way off and I hope it gets fixed soon! BTW, the helper didn’t even check our phone tickets. He seemed terribly unconcerned, inexperienced and unfriendly!

The boats don’t start running until late morning, so we hung around Moline for a couple hours after breakfast waiting for the first one to arrive. Everyone lined up to get on like true midwesterners. The boat arrived and three people got off. Unknown to us, that meant only three people could get on. The man selling tickets never mentioned this to all of us standing there, apparently thinking we were all doing this for our health. Finally, after letting the lucky three people on, he told us we could stand and wait another half hour and then maybe get on the next boat. What a joke! We ended up taking an Uber to East Davenport instead, but we could have done this earlier in the morning instead of waiting around for this silly boat. My suggestion: Run more boats, start them earlier in the day learn how to properly run a business.
