My visit January 2017 was I confess mainly to use the excellent panoramic cafe for lunch, I didn't have time to walk the Reserve. This RSPB site is in a very scenic location, is fairly compact (no need to walk miles), has a good free car park and is next to the A55. There is a good shop, where a... More

Been here a couple of times. Excellent walks around the lakes on the reserve of length 2 - 3km. Lots of stopping off points with good hides. Good cafe for an rspb reserve doing breakfast butties and good lunches. There is also a guided walk every Saturday at 11am. . Well worth going to

We visited the RSPB reserve on Saturday morning for the Conwy Parkrun. I couldn't believe how beautiful the views were. Breathtaking. We were allowed to park for free which was great. There was a also great cafe and a lovely shop. We really enjoyed it.

A great reserve run by a wonderful bunch of people who look after a relatively new reserve which looks like it's been here forever. A flat comfortable walk around the reserve always ends with a visit to the cafe and although the menu there is fairly small due to the kitchen facilities there is still something for everyone and their... Our group was 5 adults and 3 children. The good = Excellent walks with hides along the way for bird spotting. Children enjoyed finding the items on the activity sheets. The bad = The Cafe/Restaurant. We found this to be very poor. Very small dishes for not so small prices. The food was disappointing (all microwaved). Our group left still... More

This place has everything going for it. Plenty of parking space, nice shop, good cafe, an area for children and a terrific nature reserve to walk around whether on a short walk or a longer one. The walk is flat throughout, so suitable for everyone. In particular I recommend the walk around the whole site where you see different habitats... More

We had not planned to go here, but saw it, and since we like to watch birds at home in the US we decided to stop. We were here just in time to catch a guided bird walk. I really recommend the guided walk. You will see a lot more birds. Since we are from the US, we got a... More

Whether you are a bird lover & RSPB member like us, or just enjoy a good, level walk on firm ground with spectacular views then this is a place worth spending at least half a day at. There is a decent sized carpark - they close the barrier at 5pm so make sure you arrive early enough to get round... More
