On seeing it, my first question was 'Why!'. On stopping my next question was 'Why not!'. As with a lot of things you see going down the old Route 66 it is quirky and big. Built by a man who was getting over a heart attack, though it doesn't say why he chose to build a 24ft plus covered wagon!!... More

Lincoln is the only city named for Lincoln before he became president, The wagon is huge and great for taking pics. It sits right out front of the Best Western Plus in Lincoln Illinois

The Railsplitter Covered Wagon stands in front of the Best Western Lincoln Inn. It is 24 feet tall. Abraham Lincoln, standing 12 feet tall, sits in the driver's seat of the wagon and he is reading a law book. The wagon is visible on Route 66. Go past the wagon and turn right on the next street. Then, turn left... More

This is something unique and fun to stop and get some photos. Grandchildren thought it was cool! It only takes a few minutes to look at the sign and get photos. This shouldn't be your destination but is great for a break.

Actually kind of weird. Not worth your time. Didn't even take a selfie by it. Now Route 66 nearby is more of a wonderful rush.

This is what my wife calls a "drive by". That means we drive by, hop out to get a picture, and get back in the car. It's a great stop to let everyone stretch their legs, see a huge covered wagon, get their picture made, then move on down the road.

It is really big! It is cool just because it exists. Had to stop for a few pictures. Worth a two-minute visit.

Another must stop for Route 66 travelers. The covered wagon is incredibly large and you need to have a person stand next to it in the photo just to get an idea of how big it is. A quick stop.

Made a real quick stop over at the covered wagon to grab some pictures and then stayed at the Best Western motel right behind it
