I went to Half Day Forest Preserve in Vernon Hills on x-mas day for a walk. What a great place. The trails are well tended to. The signage not so much. Got a little lost because they were missing signs on various paths but all you have to do is stay on a path and 6 miles (combined waking distance on trails) later you will come across homes, streets, etc. Thanks for the amazing place and the amazing place to walk and clear the clutter.

My wife and I picked this venue for its natural beauty and the ability to provide Ceremony only services. Well thats where the problem lies. The catering company is a separate entity from forest preserve. If you do not book their catering and only use the premises for the ceremony you are treated like a red headed step child. 1. No mention of another Wedding going on that day and were forced to tell our guest they needed to use the outdoor restrooms on a rainy day. 2. We ordered a simple easel they and their only responsibility and they managed to forget to put it out. 3. The chairs were not set out the way we instructed and they did not sweep the grounds before our guest arrived. 4. Nobody had a clue where to go for the ceremony as they told us the gate keeper would instruct them and everyone went to the main building this made several people late for the ceremony. I would NEVER hold another event at this establishment!
