The museum was full of information presented in a user-friendly and mullti-generational manner. There were also animals and outdoor activities for children and re-enactors with more information answering specific questions around the Lincoln cabin.

I saw this site listed on one of those quirky "roadside attraction" websites, and it made it sound a bit disappointing. But it wasn't! This is really, really well done and impressive! It's not just the Lincoln cabin. There are barns and another farm and...More

I was surprised by how developed this place is. I expected a lot less than what is there. I recommend if highly.

I have been going here for years and love it. On the weekends they sometimes dress in period clothing, cook on the fire....Nice place out in the country. They also have a Harvest Frolic in late September.

Interesting site; however, not an Abraham Lincoln log cabin. This is the cabin of Tom Lincoln & his family Still a nice demonstration of life in the 1800s, including sheep roaming free around the grounds. Beautifully kept grounds & little museum. 70 miles round trip...More

This was Abraham Lincoln fathers farm when they moved to Illinois. Lincoln continued to Springfield but made regular visits. The are several fully restored buildings on the site and several picnic sites.

Mine did not go with me as there were sheep grazing in the near area. I don't think they would appreciate dogs around their chickens either but I would check with the site because I could be wrong.
