Located in Grayslake this place has local brews with a food menu that is wrapped around the beer. Started off with the chips and dip as an appetizer and a "half pour" on a local Pilsener. For an entree I got the Pot Roast Taco's...More

Food was mediocre although the descriptions seemed very unique, most of it was fried and overcooked. We specifically ordered appetizers but they were delivered after our main course. Service was below average, did not feel like a guest or cared for as a customer. Service...More

We went on a Sunday afternoon to the new location at 2 South Lake Street. Not busy at all. Staff was friendly & helpful. Tried a flight of 6 beers (5oz each)...good...nothing special. Menu has unique food offerings...not your typical tavern/pub food which is really...More

Nice little Blackhawks-themed taproom for decent brews. Definitely a brew for all types. Location is moving...hopefully somewhere with some noise control. Seems like a friendly place.

I always find this place as a local hangout whenever I go. The staff is very friendly and helpful with their knowledge of the latest beer on tap. The selection is just right. Plus free popcorn.

This place only serves beer that is made nearby. We do drink beer from micro brewers, but could not find any to our liking at Light the Lamp. It was disturbing that the beers were cloudy, not clear. Maybe that's to be expected, but we...More

We go to Light the Lamp on a somewhat regular basis. The beer is always great (I prefer the Red Line Ale.). They keep the popcorn coming. Everyone who works there and the owners are really friendly. We ALWAYS go when the L&M Experience is...More

This is a storefront that serves beer made by local hockey dads. The beer itself was scary to me as it's not clear to see through, it comes very cloudy. It was explained to me that it is not filtered, thus causing the clouding. It...More

My wife and I stopped in here to taste some of their brews. Enjoyed the beers, the Blackhawk's theme, and conversation with the bartender and others at the bar was enjoyable. Definitely coming back. Enjoyed their own version of Black and Tan.

Love Light the Lamp. The staff and owners are friendly. The music is good. The beers are great - all of them! And there is even live entertainment sometimes. The atmosphere is chill unless there's a hockey game, but otherwise I love this place.
