The zero-depth pool at the south gate features a tropical garden island decorated with over-sized flowers, birds, and a giant butterfly. There is an adult lap pool. The mini arboretum -- named for Ralph Zynnestvedt -- has gravel and boardwalk paths that circle around the ornamental prairie display garden, the shady display garden, the rain garden, and the Boughner/Baden Art in the Park sculpture. Many trees, shrubs, and flowers are labeled. There are picnic tables, a sledding hill, playgrounds; walking/jogging/hiking paths, baseball and soccer fields, tennis and basketball courts,a picturesque bridge over a small pond, and plenty of parking. Be aware that the paths flood during heavy rains, and that you can call 847-724-3337 to find out if the pools are open during questionable weather.…

Enjoyed having Easter Sunday lunch at one of the picnic tables in the covered area. Afterward took a walk around the park. So beautiful to see the pond with the ducks and geese right from the picnic table.

The charm of Flick Park is the variety of spaces you can to. There are several park spaces to select from. For smaller children, a smaller part with limited activities is perfect. The choice is yours.
