Interesting place - the building itself and spanish art exhibited inside. We were glad to get personal guide in English - the lady helped us to understand the logic of museum exhibition, told interesting things about the palace and, of course, presented the star picture - Temptation.. by Velasquez. Books are available in the ticket office downstair if you are interested. Initial home of Velasquez picture - Cathedral de Orihuela - is right here, the same plaza.

We called in as we had time to kill before dinner, and we were so glad we did.
The building is fabulous and the decor outstanding.
The whole collection of art was a joy to look at.
Next time we visit we shall stay a little longer.

We only visited this because we had an hour or two clear but it was the highlight of our visit to Orihuela. The venue itself is the old Episcopal Palace which has been converted very sympathetically to house a wonderful collection of Religious Art-the star of the show being "The Temptation of Thomas Aquinus" by Velasquez-worth the 3 euro entry fee on its own

A journey to the 15 and 16th century. What a treasury you van find in this place. Gold and silver ornaments, beautiful statues and so one. Worth to visit
