It is formed by the Basilica of Santa MarÃa de la Piscina, one of the most beautiful examples of pure Romanesque in Rioja (XII century), a necropolis of repopulation from the tenth to the fourteenth centuries), a town with semi-ruined houses and remains of fortifications or watchmen (X to XIV centuries) Its history is strongly linked with that of the Brotherhood of Santa Vera Cruz and with the Disciplinantes of San Vicente de la Sonsierra Location: Next to the LR-424 (Carretera a Peciña) Enabled parking of vehicles. Prohibited the transit of vehicles by the access road GPS location 42º34'41 "N 2º43'33" W

This is one great experience a few minutes away from San Vicente de Sonsierra. There following a small paved deviation from the road and isolated among fields is this jewel of architecture. It can be visited inside by appointment but to appreciate form the outside alone is a great experience in the solitude of the open setting. No crowds and camera totting hordes. Just you, art and history.

Well worth a visit for the beautiful views, though the church was shut. The weather was a bit windy but still very pleasant.

Lovely to walk around and see the views. None of the buildings were open. Wish some of the info panels were in English, as our Spanish was not good enough to understand all the info.
