Don't miss this show!

I think the reviews speak for themselves. P.T. Murphy's show is top notch. We have seen the show many times and it amazes us every time. He is very personable and interacts with the crowd very well. When friends come with us, we always take them to P.T. Murphy. We went April 15th to his second show after reopening and it was great! 12 people in the audience and everyone was distanced and masked. This is by far something you need to check out when visiting Galena. You won't be disappointed.

Best part of our trip
Apr 2021 • Family
I would encourage anyone who is in Galena or the area to see this show. PT is a natural showman. Upon entering the space he made my husband and I and our two kids (9 & 5 years old) feel welcome. Charismatic he took an audience of strangers and made us feel connected, almost like a team.
The show itself was incredibly entertaining and left us astonished and curious. It quieted the rational voice inside your head and left you excited with the idea and hope that magic does actually exist.
I also want to note that PT was quick on his feet adjusting language and story line for our young audience. This show is great for adults but if you have kids it will leave them wide eyed and wondering.

You don't have to like magic to find this show entertaining!!!
Jan 2021
We have been twice ...once in person and once virtual. Both experiences were great. He is so entertaining besides being a wonderful magician. If you are in Galena or want an at home experience via zoom during this pandemic, make sure you go to his website and purchase a very affordable ticket! You won't be sorry!!

Try this Virtual Magic Show
Jan 2021
P.T. Murphy is part magician, part comedian. The show is a joy and not just because you get the impressive tricks you've paid for. He invests in his audience in a way few performers do effectively, involving us in his magic and teaching us tricks along the way.
My family (partner and two boys - 9 and 12) logged into a virtual magic show, unsure what to expect, but were delighted that P.T. can maintain his charisma and high energy show even on the Zoom platform. Couldn't recommend more!

It’s a must do!

I hardly leave reviews unless they are to warn other people... until now! This one is a must do! Especially in a time when many of us are trying to think of different things to do to keep us entertained at home. Highly recommend for the whole fam!

Magic with an Ed Debevec’s flair
Jan 2021 • Couples
If Plato has an idyllic form of magic, it must be PT Murphy. With the wit of Joan Rivers at her brassiest and a sleight of hand that makes Mandrake look like Man-dork, PT will reaffirm for even the most petulant goth chick or emo dude that, dammit, life IS magic. So swing on by and treat yourself to a PT cruise. May the spirits of magic bless Mr. Murphy; he’ll pull a rabbit out of your heart.

P.T. Murphy’s Show Does Not Disappoint, In Person or Streamed!
Dec 2020
Having had a great time attending a show while vacationing in Galena a couple of years ago, I was excited to get an email about the premier of virtual shows on 2020 New Year's Eve and thrilled to be able to get a ticket for the final show that evening. And the actual live-streamed performance itself exceeded my expectations. I don’t feel that any of the intimacy of attending a performance in person in the small venue along with only 23 other audience members was lost. I was entertained, amazed, and had great fun learning a bit of magic! And I enjoyed watching the online interaction with two youngsters (and their cat) during one of the illusions. I’m glad to see the virtual shows will be continuing in 2021 and certainly hope to catch a couple them.

New Years Eve Zoom Performance
Dec 2020
We have seen PT in person and were so pleased to see that he had started doing zoom shows during the pandemic. He still holds ticket sales to 24, so it's a very interactive show. He even has everyone "bring" their own props! We loved the show and were so pleased to see that he'll be continuing them during the winter months. We would highly recommend it!

We’ve seen his show twice—once in club and one virtual by zoom. He baffled us both times. Very personable person. He gets the audience involved.
I had adult friends, teenage kids, and young kids. Everyone loved it.

How do you get tickets? Can we buy them there?
fritsche_philip
Germantown, WI77 contributions
Yes you can buy them onsite IF any are left. The theatre is very small and intimate with limited seating.
Your best bet, even if you're in town already, is to buy tickets for your preferred time and date show online to ensure you get the number of seats you need/want.

I have been to this magic show before. About 2 years ago, and loved it. Thinking about going again and was wondering if the show is the same or are there different magic tricks?

Hi WinterHat- The show changes in small increments throughout the year, but there are a few classic items that people always request upon their return, so some of the show is the same.

Is this suitable for young kids? Ages 8, 6, 4.

Hi thanks for your question. We only seat 24 people. The theater is very small, so there is nowhere for younger children to go if they get bored. We recommend the show for ages 13 and up as the content is not geared toward younger children. People do occasionally bring children under 13, but to be honest, any 4 year old that has been to the show, and that has been rare, ends up falling asleep. We do not allow toddlers or infants in the theater. Please give us a call if you have any questions.

I have an eight-year-old. She's very interested in seeing the show. Is this appropriate for her?
Patrick Thomas M

Hi Karen- Please note: This show is recommended for ages 13 and up. You have no doubt read the various responses from people who have seen the show. We do not discourage younger people from attending, but we do suggest that every parent use their best judgement in considering their purchase. Every show is different. If there are younger audience members we tone things down. If there is an all adult audience things may be different. But please know that the majority of our audience are adults, some of whom may have been out drinking. Some of the most extreme things we have heard, have come out of the mouths of audience members! Our policy is based on this fact as well. This is not a kiddie show. It does not have flashing lights, and animals. It is a show geared towards adults and young adults. In response to Denis S. response, the only veiled reference to "pot" was mentioning Willie Nelson's name. We don't know too many 8 year olds who are aware to Willie Nelson, but maybe Dennis runs with a hipper crowd. :) All of that said, please contact us if you have more questions. We'd love to assist. Thank you!

How long is the show? Are you handicapped accessible?
Patrick Thomas M
Galena, IL2 contributions
Thank you for your interest. The show is 65 minutes long. Please give us a call at 779-214-0035 to discuss accessibility to our building. Much of downtown Galena was built in the 1800's. While we are accessible, it really depends on your needs. We can accamodate a wheel chair. But there are two steps into our building.
