The one bedroom villa was good for one night or two. A little dated but clean and cozy. The patio for the wedding was breath taking. It over looks the ravine. The food was good and sweets even better. Our other family members had a...More

December Traffic (2 Replies)
Our family will be in Pigeon Forge from 12/11-12/13. Will the traffic be terrible? We are renting a cabin in Eagle Ridge Resort. I usually stay in a hotel on the strip in Gatlinburg to avoid all of the evening traffic because we walk everywhere. I am just hoping we dont have regrets on staying in a cabin this time based on fighting traffoc. Thanks!

Since you will be there on the weekend you can expect some heavy traffic at times normally around lunch and dinner times. It's not going to be like the car show traffic or leaf season traffic. If you plan to go into the park you could come out of the resort and take 321 Wears Valley Rd to Townsend and go into the park that way. Staying in a hotel on the strip is nice, but having your own cabin is a lot nicer. More room to move about and your own kitchen if you want to cook a meal. ...More

Status report of colors up north (0 Replies)
Hi travelers... just returned from a week in NE Minnesota and thought I'd post this update. We camped last weekend at McCarthy Beach State Park north of Hibbing. The color there was barely starting, but their cold nights and rain will allow the leaves to hang on and not speed through. Ely was just starting to show color, the drive down Hwy 61 to Finland had some great color at about 50%. Could be peak weekend for the reds. Grand Marais was not really started yet. We hiked outside of...More

Galena in November (2 Replies)
My hubby and I were thinking of going to Galena the second weekend in November and staying at the Eagle Ridge Resort so that I can horseback ride while he rides the golf cart. We would also love to explore the town. Any ideas for breakfast/lunch/dinner and sights that are not to be missed. Thanks in advance!
