Great animal entertainment

This is a MUST for all families who appreciate the animal world particularly with younger children. Very well worth a visit.

Nordens Ark, or Ark of the Nordic, is a pleasant and fairly sized zoo, with a wide range of animals. From red pandas to vvarious leopards (including a snow leopard) to moose, reindeer and wolverines. There is a also a petting zoo with farm animals across the raod, though we did not visit. The enclosures are large, and the animals... More

It's not so much a zoo more a mini world for the animals that are there primarily for breeding. Altogether an excellent experience and so well laid out. You are not guaranteed to see all of the cats, but if you are quiet and patient they may well show themselves.

We've been at several zoos around the world and we're kind of disappointed at Nordens ark. Nicely built with lovely parks but where are the animals? Often they just a few animals at each exhibition making it really hard to find them. Hardly saw any animals really...

We really enjoyed this experience. There was so much to see, a very good range of mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians. We especially liked the leopards, wolverine and cranes. Most of the labels were in English. If you want to see everything wear sensible shoes as there's plenty of walking but it's all on good paths. Very nice cafe. Staff... More

We rented a car in Göteborg to reach the Nordens Ark park. It was really easy to find. We went on a Monday. There were very little other visitors. The park has has lots of great beautiful wild animals that are often not in other zoo parks. Although the animals have plenty of space, they are very visible for the... More

I went to Nordens Ark on September 2015. It is the positive alternative to a zoo : quality primes over quality. So you will maybe see animals from endangered species of the cold climates of Europe and Asia, in their large enclosures. It often means you have to look out for the animals. Thankfully for the snow Leopards and Amour... More

We went to Nordens Ark in July and there where quite a crowd, but the entrance queue went rather quick. I recommend to prebook tickets! The walk around the park where rather long so the youngest girl got kind of tired... Also she had problems spotting the animals since they live in rather big yards. The watersump area where indoor... Really nice park, not big but well taken care of. 4 hours is plenty.. Closeup contact with animals and a lot of nice view all over. We will defently come back here with our kids again.

More than a zoo. The animals have lots of space. Situated in a fantastic woodland. Quite a bit of walking and hilly but no steps. All walking is on good footpaths and suspended wooden walkways. Lots of playgrounds for kids and easy disabled access and suitability. Environmental projects and animal conservation work is fabulous. It gets really busy in high... More
