There is a place called Kadilangu Tomb near Demak Great Mosque (about 3km), It's a tomb complex of Islamic scholars, Demak’s rulers, and others. The main tomb of the place is tomb of Sunan Kalijaga. Sunan Kalijaga was one of the Wali Songo (nine Muslim saints who spread Islam in Java), and that's why this tomb is so popular in Java. Many people (traditional Muslims) visit this tomb, especially on Thursday night and Friday of Kliwon (Javanese calendar) because at that time the door of Sunan Kalijaga's tomb is open. When I visited this tomb, it was on Friday of Kliwon, so it's so crowded outside and inside. I saw many traditional Muslims that so enthusiast to enter the tomb. These traditional Muslims were willing to jostle for praying ( seeking intercession / tawassul) to the tombs, especially the tomb of Sunan Kalijaga, to make their wishes come true. Conclusion : It's nice place for religious trip traveler, and people who wants to see Javanese and traditional Muslim culture. It's not recommended for people who don't like crowded.…
