The shop itself is worth a visit (even if you don't care to buy anything), but the additional truly special part of this place is the free-admission museum downstairs. It's easy to miss, I'd been going to this store for years before realizing it was...More

If you are even vaguely interested in rocks for any purpose (jewelry making, collecting, admiring) this is the place. It has moved a number of times but in the same area. They have rocks for kids, a fossil museum supplied by Dave from his diggings,...More

This is a wonderful place to explore the world of precious, semi-precious, and just plain mineral stones. You can look at your leisure and buy if you like. But when you're finished with that, go downstairs for a wonderful look at prehistory. The free museum...More

I have bought a lot from this unusual rock/jewelry shop. Don't miss the cool dinosaur museum in the basement! Everyone I have taken here has told me how great it was!

This is a cool store filed with unique items. Great for a family outing. They have a fossle museum in the basement. Great also if you want to buy crystals or stones. One block away from the purple line.

A visit definitely worth while visiting. All kinds of rocks and jewelry. A museum in the basement of the shop is a must to see. Friendly employees and great location.

I doubt there are too many communities around that, like Evanston, could support such a niche business as Dave's Rock Shop, but they have been there for decades. Lots of interesting stuff to look at, a friendly and knowledgeable staff...what's not to like? Dave's rocks!...More

Went in looking for specific rocks. They only had tiny pebbles of what I was looking for, disappointing. Prices are noticeably higher than other rock shops in the U.S. I've been all over, California, Arizona, Greece, Australia, etc. There is a mini museum in the...More
