My husband and I were in Galena for a couple of days on our motorcycles. We decided to check out a local vineyard. We ended up at Massbach. WOW...what a beautiful ride there! This place is small and family owned but so quaint. The wines were delicious, so we ended up buying a 1/2 case and had shipped! The staff... More

We enjoy very much going to Massbach's wine tasting room on Main Street in Galena, IL. The staff there, Amy and Nancy, are always incredibly knowledgeable, kind, fun, and we LOVE that they play country music! It keeps us coming back for more!

We have come to this winery before but it was an absolutely fabulous weekend for a drive out again. The rolling hills make even the drive out fun. They have a wide range of wines from dry-sweet, red, white and fruit that even my husband and I's differing tastes found wines we each liked. The hostess was very knowledgeable and... More

I have been to wineries from New Zealand > France > Argentina > Napa and, for my taste buds, the wines here have my lowest ranking. The pourer was not very knowledgeable, more akin to a clerk than anything. If you like sweeter wines, or without much body, then you probably will be happy, but for my $$ not worth... More

We bought the $5 per person wine tasting. We each picked 5 wines to try. They poured 2 ounces and described the wine. They had oyster crackers to eat in between to cleanse our palette. We bought 4 bottles of wine. The price of the wines were pretty reasonable. We really had a fun time trying the wines.

My best friend and I stopped in the tasting room on Main Street in galena. Not the actual winery. And we were not impressed. The people that worked there didn't greet us at all. She just put a glass and a paper in front of us and then told us how much the tasting is, no hello or anything. She... More

We spent a Wednesday afternoon cruising Galena’s Main Street, and we happened upon this tasting room. The wines are primarily from French hybrid grapes that are locally grown. My wife and I have tasted wine in the Napa, Sonoma, Anderson and Willamette valleys, and the Massbach wines hold their own with wines from these areas – very tasty. The woman... More

We visited the winery on Monday, august 3rd. Fantastic customer service, unlike Rocky Water s winery, they were awful!! Anyway, Massbach was very friendly, very knowledgeable of the wines, and the area in general. Very pretty place. Thank you, we will be back for more great wine!

We stopped in for a tasting and decided to purchase a couple of cases of wine for our wedding. This was a little something extra for everyone to leave with and remember the night. The manager helping us was very sweet and friendly. Cannot wait to open the Reserve and share it with my new hubby.

We stopped in and did a tasting like we usually do. We bought 2 cases of wine for our wedding the following day. Everyone took some home and we were lucky to have a bottle for ourselves. We usually stop in there every time we go to Galena. We have never been to the vineyard.
