Raising the bar for the Chicago metro area, Maxon Shooter's proudly serves our community as Chicago's premier gun shop and indoor shooting range. Our new firearms facility offers 18 state-of-the-art indoor lanes, a well stocked and modern retail store, experienced instructors and specialized training programs with a modern event space available for both public and private events.

I went to Maxon's for the first time to shop for a firearm. I'm new to firearms, and Matt T was incredibly helpful, answering even the most basic questions. In total, he easily spent over an hour with me, showing me different models and explaining the pros and cons of the different features. I mentioned I wanted to take an instruction class, and he introduced Jeff K, an instructor with decades of professional experience. I'm very much looking forward to learning to use and care for my purchase.

We went to Maxon’s for some practice shooting and to try out a new gun. Do you have a good selection. A little pricier on the range fees than some other places in the area, but it’s very convenient for me. The guys are pretty friendly.

Excellent location to practice.
Clean. The best. Beats Article II hand down.
Getting a group rate would be great too.

Maxon was an ok place when they just moved. But ever since it went down hill in my opinion.
1. Range safety-I've had guys with a brand new shotgun standing next to me pretty much pointing the barrel anywhere but down range. At their old facility they usually had someone keeping an eye out on the range while walking around.
2. Attitude-the guys need some schooling in customer service and how to proper represent the business. Cocky, arrogant, looking down on you when you just want to buy a holster. Those are some words that pop op in mind.
3. Ventilation-most of the time it feels like it isn't even working. Let's also add how hot it can be there at times.
4.pricing-more expensive compared to many others. Shop around a bit. You'll find it cheaper with better ffl fees. $21 for 9mm? News flash 9mm is pretty much available again.
5. FOID applications-sorry you should not own a firearm if you can't figure out how to do one your own. All info is on the ISP website and cost only $10 (I think they charge $25 and loose your app, read YELP about this).
One thing is for sure, they've lost me as a customer for safety reasons and their bad attitude. I'd rather spend the drive up to some other ranges in the area or join this outdoor range which I got invited to a bunch of times.

Maxon employees are ignorant and condescending. They also don't know what they are talking about. Facility is substandard, prices are high.

Went to Maxon as part of my Bachelor party. Ruth took great care of 6 worse for wear English guys who'd mostly never held a real gun before in their lives. She obviously knew her stuff when going through how to handle the various guns on offer and was always on hand to help on the range when us idoits couldn't remember how to load a gun or shoot in a straight line. We had a great time, would 100% recommend.

I called Maxons last week to inquire about bringing in some friends who were visiting from Ireland. They informed me that because they were not US residents they would have to shoot with an instructor. So we made an appointment and I am so glad we did. The instructor we had was awesome and we spent some time in a classroom first going over safety and procedures before heading into the range. My buddies had a great time, and I don't think Maxons could have made it any better. Really great experience with really friendly and knowledgeable staff. Thanks Maxons!!

I visited this range last weekend and was really impressed with how clean and well kept the facility was. I rented a few firearms with my husband and the staff was very knowledgeable in explaining what might work best for me to shoot. The range was well ventilated, and and kept very clean which I really appreciate. Thank you Maxon's for such a wonderful shooting experience!

Been here today for the first time. Shoot a gun for the first time. My sister and I requested a trainer and we got Chris. He was very professional and explained everything very well. I understood all his instructions without having to ask him to repeat himself. He made me feel safe and at ease. I highly recommend him as a trainer.

I visited this gun club a few minutes ago. It s a largar place very close to the international airport. great place great guns. I was attended by a very polite and helpful instructor. I recommend to all Brazilians who come to Chicago and like to shoot.
