A traditional village pub in the heart of the Medieval township of Heptonstall set in the Pennine hills. Large selection of quality real ales, ciders and wines and an extensive selection of gins. Excellent choice of home-cooked pub fayre, vegetarian options and daily specials menu. Eclectic and friendly customers. Sunny beer garden to the rear. Dog friendly. Since losing their chef, the food quality has deteriorated. Overpriced, tasteless and dull. The salad consisted of a pile of aging vegetables with no dressing. The hot beef baguette was mostly bread with a small slice of dry beef. The suet pudding looked like it...More

We called in for lunch mid way through a lovely walk. Friendly staff, great beer and good walker's grub- just what we needed! I think more of our walks may pass through Heptonstall at lunchtime!

Yes, well behaved dogs are welcome here an in many other pubs. There is a coffee shop down in Hebden Bridge, called "The Lamppost" which caters especially for dogs and their owners.
