Excellent night. 11 out of 10.

It was a special night because we were celebrating our friends engagement and I also proposed to my partner.
Paul, the head chef, and his team were amazing. They helped with the surprise every step of the way.

Food and drinks were amazing too.

Thank you again!

great location, not that busy, peaceful, lovely seating, cosy place. I enjoyed my pint on bench out of front. The type of food is a pub grub, which I will try for next time when I will have a visit to Cabinteely.

Very slow service for food, especially between courses. Smallies got bored and we couldn't blame them. Wording of the menu has changed to bring it more upmarket, the food I have to say was very tasty.
Some orders were mixed up and it felt like we were to blame for it.

I wouldn't be in a rush back to it.

Comfortable and clean room but it was far too hot and the very loud noise till the early hours in the beer garden totally ruined the stay. I wouldn't recommend to anyone who actually wants to sleep.

Hi Nicola- I’m sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us on account of the conviviality below. Your point is well made though and for the benefit of other potential visitors who read this review it is important to note that our rooms are located above and to the rear of our village pub and restaurant. From time to time customers chat and laugh in the beer garden until about 1.30 am which may disrupt light sleepers.

A lovely pub . We only had two drinks though as we were over for a chums birthday so we're out most of the time .
The room (room 2) was decorated to a high standard and overlooked the outdoor seating area . It was perfectly clean with a large comfortable bed and an ensuite bathroom .
One minor criticism is that there were no glasses in the room and no means of getting a drink , water , tea or coffee when the pub is closed.
I would definitely recommend the Horse & hound though . Went to Greystones for breakfast as we didn't know anywhere in Delgany and there was no info to advise .

A great night at the Horse and Hound. Beautifully decorated rooms, very tasteful. Luxury bed and a great nights rest. Room only but a 5 minute walk will bring you down to the Firehouse Bakery where tea and scones is a must.

I visited this pub recently with some friends on a Wednesday night..great atmosphere, live traditional Irish music was in full swing..very enjoyable except for the gents toilet which was in need of a good clean up and looked a bit tatty...

There is a fantastic atmosphere in the horse and hound, great food, great pints, a nice local feel, and great tunes on Wednesday nights. Highly recommend.
