As with other reviewers we also met Patrick who showed us his beautiful home. Full of tales and historical facts he makes the visit a fascinating one. Above all else, this is a beautiful building located in a stunning place.

When we arrived, the elderly owner asked everyone (in French) if they understood English. They all said yes. He then gave an apparently entertaining speech in french which I could only understand bits of. Then he turned to me and asked a question . when I failed the quiz, he had all the francophones tell me the answer in English!... More

It Is the best way to avoid monologue and simple ' word distribution approach´. Most of my daily visits (up to 5 per day on peak summer Times) do not raise same... More

We went this week and were lucky enough to catch Patrick, the owner, about to depart on a tour with some Spanish visitors. He provided all of us with a light-hearted, fascinating and concise picture of Anglo-French and wider European history over the past 700 odd years, effortlessly swapping from one language to another, whilst showing us the château, telling... My son and I were very lucky in that the charming owner of the chateau gave us a wonderful tour of his most beautiful and evocative property. Fortunately he spoke excellent English and was very informative about the history of the chateau and the manner in which it was defended in early times. The stories were told with a great... More

I have lived near to Cenevieres for a long time and I don't know why but I have only just visited the chateau today with my daughter. I would definitely recommend a visit, we loved it. The guide that showed us round was really animated and she made the visit very interesting, there is such a lot of history and... More

Good evening Gillden I am pleased to see our "voisins" visiting us. No need to travel all around the globe: you may find as well and very clos,e to the chateau a lot of nice things to visit including what we call "petit patrimoine" (i.e. a vast number of churches, bridges, ponds, walls....). Next time you visit, let us know... More

This unique Chateau is well worth a visit - the excellent guide gave an impressive and personal tour (swapping very efficiently between Spanish and English). Fascinating history, and stunning views across the Lot valley. Try the candlelit tour on a Wednesday night with guides in costume - very evocative

Thanks to our blockbuster assistants (i.e.1500 small bats "pipistrelle") you may have appreciated sharing a light collation... More

There were six in our party ranging in age from 6 to 64. There were also 4 French people. The guide spoke very good English and most of her explanations were in that language. Luckily the French participants all understood English. The guide was extremely knowledgable about the building, its' contents and French history in general. We were particularly enthralled... More
