It could be considered the best river I have ever visited in a big city so far. It is a must-see in Chicago and most likely every day to pass around it. The river cruise (must do) was also a very valuable and pretty picturesque experience and a very nice illustration by the guide about all buildings and their history. This was the first activity i had in Chicago and it was very nice to enjoy the river tour and watching the city skyline with special thanks for the professional guide "Brent" who provided too many information about the towers and their history. This tour needs lucky weather without rains to enjoy it.

I cannot say enough about how amazing of experience this tour is. Does the fact that I've now done it 3 or 4 times help paint that picture? Every time I visit Chicago (and have the time) I try to book the tour. No two are ever the same. Mainly because the architectural landscape is ever-evolving but also because the guides always provide a unique and fantastic experience.

most recently we took my 8 year old nephew with us - with the attention span of a gnat we were hoping he'd learn a few things... Imagine our surprise while on our trip back home he was able to recall more factoids and architectural tidbits than we were!!!

Fun for all ages and always worth the adventure!!!

After visiting the Chicago Architecture Center and then purchasing boat tickets, we crossed the street and boarded the First Lady. On this day, it was the first time I had to wear gloves and a hat in 8 months but braved the weather and sat up top to get the best view.

The city as seen from the river was truly amazing but the real reason I hung in there with the cold was because of our guide, Tom. As a volunteer for the Chicago Architecture Center, you could tell he enjoyed sharing his knowledge and love of the city with visitors. He was so engaging! Our boat captain, also named Tom, was humorous and between the 2, my friend and I had a fun 90 minutes!

Captain of vessel brutally chided my party of six as he was addressing the gruop. Couple of friends just catching up with light conversation did not need an up and down from obviously cranky captain. We are grown ups and simply didnt need a lecture. Set tone for the excursion and changed the whole mood of day.
Even when we were departing other passengers commented on what took place and also felt uncomfortable for us.

Just wanted to chill on the water with nice scenery and got exactly what I needed with full bar and toilet. On top of it there was a really awesome tour guide - a volunteer lady to speak on architecture of building we pass by. Really awesome addition to the. Ice scenery and even despite all the rain we had. TOTALLY worth it. THANK YOU!!!!!

Took a Chicago architecture tour last week, with Tim as our volunteer docent guide. It was terrific. He was very knowledgeable about the buildings' architecture, had some good stories, and asked that if we liked the tour, we use his name ("Tim") rather than some other name if we didn't like the tour. I loved it!

I've been to Chicago so many times and finally had a chance to take this river cruise. Of course Chicago's architecture is amazing but this is the best way to see it and learn about how the city keeps growing. Our docent Patricia was the best - so smart and funny - she really made the cruise!

This is a wonderful way to spend an hour and a half seeing the beautiful river fronts and architecture of Chicago. Our experience was that the operator nicely socially distanced all of the guests. The volunteer docent named Dan was an exceptional tour guide and the experience could not have possibly been better.

Wow! I'm honored and so grateful to have experienced this incredible tour. A big shout out to Patricia ("Pat"), our docent! I've been on about 5 architecture tours in Chicago and the First Lady is hands down my favorite. My parents came in from Atlanta for Mother's Day. We were so engrossed in the inspiring and fun story so effortlessly told by Pat. We were hanging on her every word. Incredible job! I highly recommend to all! This is a gem in Chicago and must do! THANK YOU!

Wish I could type the huge smile on my face reading these wonderful words. Thanks so much, and glad we were part of a special Mother's Day.

We did the 5-630pm architectural boat tour and loved it. You don't need to be an architecture fan to enjoy the commentary which gives design info but also stories behind the buildings you see on the trip. Great to see the skyline in daytime and when the sun goes down too. Russell was our guide and was excellent.
