The worst customer service I have experienced in an establishment that caters to higher end clients. I call on Thursday, December 30th to inquire if they carried veal cutlets in their butcher department, I was told they did. I inquired what time the store opened the next day (December 31) and was told 8 AM. I arrived at the store this morning at 9. Upon arrival I was told the butcher is on the second floor and the second floor does not open until 10 AM. I roamed the first floor for nearly an hour until the second floor opened up. Went up to the butcher department and asked for 4 pounds of veal cutlets. The butcher, a young man with a long beard and a mask that did not cover his face properly told me they do not have any ready at this time but it is on his "to do" list, When I inquired when they would be ready he said "I don't know we are going to be very busy today. I can't make nay promises" I went to the customer service desk and told the manager my story. This was a short little man , again with a beard but at least his mask fit properly. He could not care any less for my situation. He could not make eye contact with me and mumbled stuff about they are having problems with their vendors. He would not take any responsibility for the situation only kept repeating about how they (Eataly) takes pride in their customer service. Just a very bad experience and I will never set foot i that store again.…

We visited Chicago for a few days just before another COVID flare locked down the city. The 21c Hotel is across the street from Eataly. That amazing Italian specialty cuisine shop became our sustenance stop! Clean, organized, friendly and assistive - we felt like we were enveloped in a safe, creative and helpful eating space. The prepared salads are wonderful. The fresh baked breads so satisfying. An extraordinary Italian wine selection and desserts galore! We purchased several meals. We bought pannatone (chocolate chip) and biscotti desserts for family. Festive and celebratory of moments in time! Payment options are many, and include touch-less Apple Pay. In fact, we were rewarded for choosing safer, healthier options!…

The pandemic has changed do many things. Our daughter gound this while we were out walking in the late morning . We decided to try and see if we could be seated. We were seated and there were only a few other people who came in behind us. Our waiter and servers were very cautious and would approach the table when we were masked. I was very pleased and happy to oblige. The food was excellent, hot, and reasonably priced. We had different dishes and we shared bites. The bread with olive oil was rustic and delicious. I would like to go and have dinner one day when it is easier to travel. Mangia!…

Nowhere near worth the exorbitant prices; the lasagna is good, but the meat is somewhat gamey, and the vegetarian version features underdone vegetables; not enough sauce on either. The black current sponge cake is average, with the tiniest whisper of actual cake at the bottom, panna cotta is surprisingly awful – not sure what they do to get the lumpy texture/bland flavor. Trader Joe’s (about a block away) has better food at 2-3 times lower prices, and much more gracious staff.…

This place is awesome. Even just a walk through visit is quite the experience. The food & wine options are incredible. Was amazed at the authenticity of the place in cheeses, meats and wines. You can dine here (we did not), but I wish to upon return. There's a Gelato Bar, that's excellent. The varieties of sauces, seasoning and meats is really incredible.…
