I generally don’t make my way up north to Andersonville but I make as I was pressed into going to this spot by my wife. They sat us even though our entire party wasn’t there when we arrived. As it turns out, it’s a good spot!!

Not a tourist spot but filled with local flavor and great taste! We ordered small plates to share and enjoyed each one!

this was a gathering of four friends, two of whom were sampling the amazing selection of belgian beers and to of whom were not. the food is excellent, though. among the things we tried:both preparations of mussels--both are really good and the frites are delicious; the blackened carrots appetizer--amazingly delicious; the roast beet appetizer--tasty and with a bit of a kick; the charcuterie platter--obviously it varies but we liked everything we sampled; the cauliflower and parsnip salad--refreshing and maybe even a little healthy. things that people other than me tried so i can't report but they seemed happy: the catfish hoagie and the amish chicken.

the place is lively, a bit noisy but one can converse with a bit of effort, and the staff is great--very helpful. we were way too full for dessert so i can't report on those, either.

Great place to go for Belgium beers, as well as a huge selection I’m craft beers, many of which are from the Midwest. Some ciders, too.

Great food and ambience. Locals and tourist mingle in a vibrant yet cozy set of dining / drinking areas.

Most recent trip I had the Duck Reuben - that was on a crusty pumpernickel. Outstanding! Duck was super moist, cheese was perfect. Frites with aoili put me into a chip coma!

Late dinner and seated in the front quickly as we were quite happy to order both food and drinks at the bar. Enjoyed my Belgian-Style Mussels for one and especially the pomme frites with mayo dipping sauces. There were tons of fries and no one came close to finishing theirs. My girlfriend couldn’t find anything on the menu she liked but fries while guys enjoyed the brisket and Duck Rueben sandwiches. Liked the pub style of the front and the interesting food choices.

Another great Chicago restaurant. Great service, very chic atmosphere & fantastic food!!!! We started with pork sausage croquettes breaded with panko, heirloom tomato salad & creamy corn. They were all so freeking good. Then 2 people had pork schnitzel sandwiches, 1 had a duck breast Reuben sandwich & I had mussels steamed in Belgium beer. 3 of us drank Belgium beer also. Had a delicious Belgium hiefenweissen. He food was out of this world. I truly love this place.

Great beer selection, including many great local lagers and ales, and the mussels with fries were delectable

Great service, great food and drink made for a great dining experience at Popleaf. Plan in being carded when you enter. Haven't been carded in many a year! Appetizer was Bitterballen, a tasty croquette of beef sausage gravy, Pablo crusted and served with a mustard aioli. The mussels and fries (a monster portion) were a huge hit as well as the Flemish stew and Sullivan Farms Chicken Two Ways. The cabbage accompanying the chicken was especially tasty, as was the Brussels sprouts salad accompanying the stew. Great place for adults. No kids allowed!

I have been wanting to come here forever and finally did & had the Best, plumbest, freshest, sweetest Mussels cooked in the Yummiest Belgian ale ever!!!

OMG, 2 of us had the generous Mussels for 2 made their classic way & were so surprised how huge & delicious they were... The fresh bread used for dunking was perfect and the Frites were so good with the salty garlicky aioli, just perfect***

I stuffed myself with so much carbs today but could Not stop - wow, Fantastic!!!!

Our server Sarah was sweet & knowledgeable & the place is super cute, rustic & had this cozy pot belly stove that is cute & functional.

Love this Place - you can get Mussels 7 Days, Lunch or Dinner, Yes :)

My boyfriend and I were in Chicago this weekend to visit my daughter and her fiancée. They suggested we try this place so we did. We had the brisket sandwich and an order of the onion rings. They were good but not something so outstanding that I would come back for. Also, the service was over the top attentive.
