I took a colleague too the Signature lounge to get the best view in Chicago. Only a 15 minute wait late Thursday afternoon and much cheaper than the 360. Having a few beers with such stunning views is well worth the extra you pay. Compared to some restaurants, the drinks prices were competitive.

Stopped in to the Lounge last weekend after not having been here for a very long time. The view is the reason to go. Decor is very mediocre, just a bunch of tables with hard backed chairs pushed together. Drinks are pricey ($12 to $16) and average size. Tried the red velvet cakes and they were like bad ho-hos, very... More

The views from here are perhaps the best in town. The service, food and drinks are way over priced, but I guess you don't pay entrance fees so... I don't mind paying for expensive cocktails but I expect a certain standard of the drinks for that price, they were very mediocre to say the least!

The view is worth the over priced cocktails and food. The booths and tables could have been better kept. Newer furnishings and better cleanliness would have raised the classiness of surroundings. Don't forget to visit the ladies room. One of the best views from the lounge and restaurant.

We heard from friends that the best way to get an awesome view of Chicago from the sky is to go to this place for a drink. Much cheaper venue per person. The Lounge is located on the 96 floor of the John Hancock building. The lines are shorter than the 360 observation deck. We were seated quickly at a... More

Friendly staff on the ground floor who took us to a dirty, dated elevator with a broken hand rail. After walking down a dirty, smelly hallway, we were greeted by a very friendly, welcoming gentleman who took us to a scratched up, sticky table sitting on dirty carpet near a radiator with dents, and duct tape. A moderately friendly waitress... More

So let's be honest. You come here for the breathtaking and spectacular view. It. Is. Beautiful. Is it pricy? Of course it is! But you are paying for an experience on the 96th floor that allows you to catch the view of the city like no other. Yes, the drinks are top dollar but they are still delicious. I am... More

The drinks were a bit pricey and the line was long, but this is understandable since the view is so nice. The service was nothing special, but again that's not why you would go.

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
