Oh! The View

That's it. However, the place being so busy one can wonder if one would like to wait to order drinks or food, but one can hardly blame the restaurant staff or the owner. One must... read more

After a long day of walking around the city we decided to go for a drink and see the views of the city. We had a table right along the window. The views were spectacular. The drinks were a little pricey (Manhattans) but considering it's Chicago and the views it was well worth it. We would definitely go again!

That's it. However, the place being so busy one can wonder if one would like to wait to order drinks or food, but one can hardly blame the restaurant staff or the owner. One must go there with an open mind and plenty of time to enjoy the view with a cool pint of beer on a hot day followed... More

Get the elevator to the 96th floor of the John Hancock Tower & get wowed by the view while you drink cocktails. Well worth the price for the drinks, can't beat them view at all.

Sweeping views of the city at night. Good wine and cocktail list, although prices are obviously high because of the location. We had a table right next to the window with a beautiful view. Be prepared to wait for your drinks, however, as it is always busy. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the views,

We chose after dinner as the time for a visit to the Signature Lounge. The views of the city are fantastic any time of day or evening. The staff are friendly and attentive.

Go if it's your first time in the windy city. Otherwise, don't bother standing in line for 10 minutes to get on the elevator to get there only to wait another 15 minutes to sit down and another 15 for a server to offer you a drink. Menu selection is poor. Once we finally received our bill, we then got... More

It took about 20 minutes to get a table. Not bad considering there was quite a crowd to go up to the 95th floor.Service was slow once we got a table. For some reason our waitress kept thinking there were only three of us, when there were four. We had to keep asking for one more glass of water, one more... More

Went here with some girlfriends figuring that we'd like to enjoy both the view and a cocktail. Didn't have to wait for the elevator and got a table right away. Though a little back from the window, we still had a great view, and the view from the women's restroom was stunning, too. The drinks were fine but not amazing... More

The view on the 96th floor in the Signature Lounge can not be beat. the drinks were ok and staff was friendly however our waitress said she had been working there for over 4 years and literally knew nothing about Chicago. She could not name one of the buildings. i think knowing a bit about Chicago and especially knowing the... More

Although a visit is definitely worth it (first time I was there, we found our floor surrounded by heavy clouds and ourselves in the middle of the most spectacular thunderstorm), don't expect too much from the food. The meals are overpriced and nothing you don't want to miss. However the staff was overly kind to us and super nice with... More

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
