Fun place

Visited here late August 2015. It's a fun place - bar in the front, dance area/stage in the back. Good mix of people. Cheap drinks!

Roscoe's Tavern is one of the best neighborhood bars in Chicago. It is located in the heart of Boystown and has a very diverse, fun and friendly crowd. There are plenty of things to do. You can hang out in the front bar and have a beverage (or two) and maybe meet some new friends. You can see a show... More

Our group of 15 visiting from out of state chose Roscoe's for lunch on a sunny Saturday afternoon before a play at the Center on Halsted. We sat outside in a lovely and shaded area. The waiters were phenomenally attentive and took great care of us. The food was delicious. The drinks were creative and yummy. And the bathrooms were... More

I have been going to this bar since the early 90's. Back then it was wildly popular, fun, always busy and it had a great staff. After taking a hiatus from the bar scene for a year or so I was dumbstruck at how awful Roscoes had become. The bartenders are slow, unfriendly, and extremely unattentive. They are more concerned... Wanted to review this place which has gone downhill from the time I met my partner 10 years ago. I had always had nostalgia about Roscoe's because of my personal history. I had been there a few times throughout the years and thought it wasn't as good as it used to be. But tonight on two occasions bringing friends from... More

I consider Roscoe’s the “go-to” bar for visitors. It has a bit of everything: -Good Drink Specials: Pitchers are the way to go… they are cheap. I usually find them oversly sweet, but when you are 22, they are great. -Dance floor: This bar is one of the few on Halsted that offers a dance floor -Café: In the afternoons,... More

Had a nice evening at Roscoe's. When we walked in we were asked for ID and we said we didn't have any, the guy looked at us like we committed murder. I explained we were from ENgland and not accustomed to carrying ID. The guy on the door said we must carry ID because "you need it to get into... More

My wife and I went with my brother in-law and his wife and her cousin that recommended it. This was our first time in a gay club and had a great time. Staff was friendly. Drinks were fine and prices in line with other bars. It got a little crazy at about 11 when the drag races started but its... More

I'm quite surprised by the negative reviews for Roscoe's. This was my first time visiting Chicago and Roscoe's was actually the first bar that I went to in Boystown. I was really looking forward to hitting Boystown and experiencing the gay community in such a lively and big city like Chicago. Roscoe's did not disappoint. The crowd at Roscoe's was... More

I have been to Roscoe's numerous times and never had an issue with anything done there..infact had a great time. I don't understand these negative posts about it, probably someone looking to find something wrong rather than just having a good time.
