On our travels, my wife and I love to visit book stores, especially independent shops like Haslam's in St. Petersburg, Florida, or Parker's in Sarasota, Florida, or Bookery Limited in Lexington, Virginia. After you unpack or park your car, walk 9 blocks west on Chicago Street to "The Abe". You will see the greatest collection of books and friendliest people at any bookstore you have visited. This is without a doubt my favorite bookstore! Anyone with any interest in mid-19th century America needs to visit this shop. Besides books on Lincoln and the Civil War, the shop also specializes in the American Presidency. Books range from the very expensive, out-of-print, 1st editions, to the very latest titles.
