Staff extremely helpful. Small lobby and many stairs to navigate but not detractors to the entire experience.

We sat on the 1st mezzanine level practically in the center and right in the first row. I chose this level and row because most theaters this row offers a little more leg room. This is not the case at the cibc. Plus, there is...More

There are large seat pads for kids. They are helpful. My child is eight, average height and about 65 pounds. She was able to sit on it, keep the seat down and see just fine. I think the hardest part for a kid in the theater... More

July Itinerary for First-time Family? (61 Replies)
I’m planning a trip to Chicago the week of July 4 for my wife, two kids (11 & 12), and I. It will be the first time to Chicago for all of us. Suggestions for a 4- or 5-day itinerary, including hotel and restaurants that would be a good fit for our family with tweens, and a heads up on any tickets I would need to purchase well in advance? The only thing I’ve got planned so far is a Hamilton showing at the CIBC Theatre. Thanks in advance!

Without knowing your family or budget, how can anyone plan your itinerary? Do you like art? Art institute. Like boat rides? Seadog. Like expensive hotels? Peninsula. Like the beach? North Avenue or oak street. Like tall buildings? John Hancock observation.

Dining near CIBC Theatre (5 Replies)
We are going to see Hamilton on Friday night and wondered if there are any good restaurants near by? We could go for an early diner or a late night after the show.

Snow Friday? Easiest way to get to Del Close Theatre? (11 Replies)
Hello. We arrive into MDW this Friday mid-afternoon. Hope to get to our hotel, next to CIBC Theatre, by 5. We are thinking of going to Improvised Shakespeare at the Del Close Theatre for the 8 pm Friday night show. Is uber/lyft a good choice? How long should it take to get to there? We are seeing the Saturday matinee of Hamilton and then hope to have dinner before heading back out to MDW for our 9 pm flight home. Hope the snow doesn't mess up our plans!

We’re getting up to 10 inches of snow. There’s no way to predict how long it will take to get anywhere. When you get settled into your hotel, play with Waze or Google Maps to get an idea of current drive times. You can expect surge pricing with Uber.
