Experience the best of Chicago aboard a Mercury cruise. Take in the Chicago River and Lake Michigan Skyline on a relaxing boat ride while our lively commentators bring the city to life with fun facts and stories about Chicago's rich history. A fun...more
On the last night of the trip we wanted something relaxing to do after dinner. We decided to take a cruise. The first hour or so you are either going through the locks or out on the lake. Our guide did a great job of...More
As a Chicago native I’ve been on an architectural river tour 4 times. The docent/actor seemed like he’s was auditioning for a voice-over part.
He mixed humor with Chicago history and lore, but came up short on the information about the buildings; he only talked...More
Great boat tour. Did this tour lats Sunday and Dawn J was the commentator/guide. Very engaging and informative. Clearly this is not just a job to her - she takes pride in her city and in sharing stories and information. Thank you for a great...More
Glad I took this cruise as we got to go through a Loch, and experience Lake Michigan. The River bit was good too, but going onto Lake Michigan was my highlight, especially knowing the other tours don’t necessarily do this, they turn around.
My guest and I enjoyed the tour very much. There was some rain at the beginning, on the upriver portion of the cruise, so we didn't get to see the buildings as well. As the boat turned around and made for the lock, the rain...More

We took this cruise in addition to the Chicago Architecture Foundation (CAF) cruise in order to get a different angle on the city buildings. Relative to the CAF cruise, this cruise offers:
1) A more history-oriented commentary on the city & buildings cruised passed (rather...More
Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of
the most iconic landmarks in the city. A stunning skyline coupled with cultural attractions like the Art Institute of Chicago present a Downtown where work and play peacefully coexist.

The lower dick is closed in and the upper deck is open. So you have your choice. You can buy your tickets at the box office located next to where the boat departs or you can purchase them online. The boats we have taken depart from Michigan Avenue & Wacker. I am not sure if they have boats that depart from navy pier as well.
