Address
Neighborhood: West Loop
Fulton Market, Randolph Market, Jackson Boulevard and Greek Town make up the West Loop. Several sub-neighborhoods within West Loop make this a unique neighborhood to visit. Dotted with factories and warehouses, West Loop is packed with various types of dining and nightlife options. Candy

Great selection and well organized. Candy is fresh and delicious at a very reasonable price. It's just a small outlet with great prices and products.

Blommer Chocolate store
Dec 2018
Terrific chocolate and great place to buy bulk chocolate for baking and candy making. Nice selection of smaller packaged chocolate also. Mike, dark, and bittersweet choices. Don't miss this place. The smell will stay will you forever when they are making the chocolate. It is what heaven must smell like.

Hidden Happiness
May 2019 • Business
Had to come to the area for business today and noticed the sign “chocolate store public welcome”. Other than that signage, this place is hidden and is just a factory with a little company store on the side as you walk in. Great selection of candy and good prices; plus the chocolate is very good too. Glad I stumbled upon it and a future family stop the next time in Chicago for leisure travel.

not open/not responsive
Jan 2019 • Friends
We stumbled upon this outlet store on a previous trip and loved it. However, on a return trip, after walking 1/2 mile in 5 degree weather, we were met with a small, printed sign on the door that said "closed Saturdays in January". the security guard just stared at us through the locked doors.
Nothing about the closing is indicated on the website.
Huge disappointment.

Fun chocolate shopping
Jan 2018 • Couples
The shelves of this small outlet store next to the factory are lined with bags of candy, including holiday chocolates, truffles, creams, and more. They also have bulk chocolate such as chocolate chips, coating chocolate, and cocoa. The staff was helpful and explained the different types of chocolate chips. Worth a stop to shop if you are a chocoholic. Tours of the factory are not allowed.

A nice variety

Kind of stumbled across Blommer as we were walking our dog, and I am glad we did. They offer a wide variety in this store and we took advantage. I would recommend the coconut clusters!

Pick up some Excellent Chocolate after your train ride!
Jul 2017 • Couples
Blommer Chocolate Store is a fun place to make a quick stop after you arrive into Ogilvie train station. It is also not far from many of the downtown hotels. The little store has a large assortment of chocolates, something for everyone. We picked up a few packages to bring back to family and friends on our recent trip to Chicago. Check the Blommer web site for store hours.

Blommer Chocolate - a New Addiction
Jun 2017 • Couples
It started on the Architectural Boat Tour. I was listening intently to the guide as we floated by amazing buildings when suddenly my brain flipped and all I could think about was the delicious smell of chocolate in the air. I assumed that for some reason, the concession stand on the boat was serving up hot chocolate. That did not really make sense on a day with temperatures nearing 90º, and yet, I wanted some - it smelled that good. Fortunately, the guide explained, before I left my seat, that the chocolate odor in the air was coming from the Bloomer Chocolate Company.

Back in my hotel room, I did some research and learned that the four Blommer factories make up the largest supplier of chocolate in North America. Even better, the factory in Chicago has a store attached that is open to the public. A new item was added to my "Must Do" list.

My hubby and I set out on our last morning in Chicago, walking the River Walk until the point were the river splits. After a few more blocks we were there - in chocolate heaven. We admired rows and bins of various candies - some with clever shapes and in fancy packages. However, my focus was on the bags of broken chunks of dark chocolate. The very sweet and helpful sales person suggested Saratoga, one of their most popular styles. We bought bags for us and for friends and her recommendation proved correct - it is really delicious chocolate. Despite concerns about luggage space, I also purchased a bag of cocoa powder so I could have a cup of that delicious smelling brew that I had been craving since the boat tour.

Blommer is located at 600 Kinzie St in Chicago and the store offers chocolate at reduced/outlet prices.

They sell their chocolate to retail chocolatiers
Dec 2016 • Family
Great fragrance of chocolate fills the air. If you track it you'll find yourself at 600 Kinzie St in front of Blommers. Go to their store and choose from many items they package or brands of candy you'll recognize. Been here since 1932, I believe. Their cocoa is wonderful. Looking for chocolate covered coffee beans? Dark or milk? Big bag or small? So 4 or 7 dollar bags. If chocolate is your thing this is a must see. People blog about how far and wide from there you can smell the chocolate.
